Love.

That's what coursed through my every sense of being when he engulfed me in hug once again.

God! This is heaven.

His arms tightened around me. Reassuring. Sharing the joy. The mutual decision.

Heaven couldn't be more beautiful than this. It couldn't be more tranquil than his arms. It couldn't be more peaceful than the lullaby of his beating heart.

I sighed.

I was finally home.

Cutting the moment ruthlessly, a deafening sound stole my hearing, making us jerk backward at the impact.

His hands dug painfully in my back. I stiffened.

He moaned painfully loosening his grip around me as he stumbled back with a sharp gasp. I looked at him and froze in place. His panicked gaze locked with mine.

A knowing.

An- apology?

His breath shuddered violently as he struggled for it. His shaking hands  gripped the seams of hospital shirt and ripped them apart, uncovering bloodied chest.

Cold.

I turned cold all over.

"K-king!" I stumbled back.

Ya Allah!

The blood seeped from where sometime ago I was basking in peaceful beats of life. His heart now a home to blood.

His brows gathered in agony and a groan escaped past his pursed lips. Extending an arm out to find a balance, he found none and fell backward on the ground.

I lurched forward with extended arms.

And my eyes widened. There stood Che.  At the end of the alley. His eyes locked on King. An unknown expression loose in them. Wild. My eyes fell on the pistol between his fingers.

"Che!" I cried out as I ran in that direction. Only to make him disappear in thin air.

"What did you say!" King's hoarse voice brought me back to life and I stopped short. Turning over to find King writhing on the ground. His locks shadows his face, trying to reach out to pry his eyes open.

His eyes lost half of their life. Piercing at the face of ...

No!

I ran to him in desparation. My knees buckling before him.

"King. That- I, he-" arm extended in the direction where Che just disappeared, my head frantically lolled back n forth but my words provided no help. Trying desperately to convey my message through my eyes. To his half closed ones. From pain.

I gulped down my rising panic as I looked at his hand clutching his chest tightly. A sob broke through me.

"King!" My hands shook terribly at the sight of blood. Reaching out to hold his but he jumped back with a hiss. Only if he wasn't in this much pain, he might have roared back at me.

As if my hands burnt him. As if he wanted to protect his dying heart from my aching one.

I retracted mine quickly. Ashamed. Folding it on my own chest. Which thrumned wildly. Aware. As if my heart could feel his pain.
