"Bye hailey." I tiredly say as I wave her a goodbye. She does the same and gives me a tired smile as she locks the hospital behind us and we both walk in our separate ways.
I go into my car and make my way towards my place as I am ready to take a shower and sleep.
As I arrive to my place, I get out of my car and lock it behind me as I unlock the front door and walk in. I lock the door behind me, take my shoes off near the entrance and walk towards the kitchen. I put my keys on the island table and tiredly walk up the stairs to my room. I am quick to go into the bathroom with a white towel in my hand.
I turn on the shower and put it warm, as the cold water turns warm, I strip off my clothes and enter the shower. I close my eyes as the warmth from the water in gulfs me. I stay still for a minute as I open my eyes and zone out into nothing. My surroundings are blurry but I refuse to let my mind replay yesterdays events as it was already bad enough I had to recall everything to tell the police at the station when I finished training with Jungkook.
I sigh as I zone back to reality and do my business, washing my hair and body before turning off the water and getting out. I wrap the towel around my body as I walk out of the bathroom and go into my closet, grabbing a grey oversized shirt with knee length tight but comfortable leggings.
My stomach grumbles as I brush my hair. I let out a small chuckle as I exit out of my room and walk downstairs to the kitchen. As I were about to open my pantry to grab a bag of chips to eat, I hear a knock on my door. I was confused but slowly walk towards the door. I let out a breath as I unlock the door and open it to reveal Hoseok.
My heart drops as I thought he was killed. "H-Hoseok..." I softly stutter. He gives me a small smile as my eyes land on the small bandage that covers his small cut on his cheekbone. Seeing that he is alive, I was about to slam the door on his face but he stops the door with his hands.
"I-I'm so sorry for what I did to you. You didn't deserve that." He apologize while looking down at me with apologetic eyes. I look away to avoid his eyes. "I didn't come here to ask you to forgive me. You have every right to get mad at me but I came here to ask if you want to come to Leilani funeral. What we did is wrong but she was a friend to you." I look down at my feet, taking in his words as he's right.
Me and Leilani were friends.
A friend I never had but was able to experience it thanks to her.
My mind wants to say no but my heart wants to say yes. I let out a sigh as I look up at him into his sad eyes. Trying to fight the urge to not let tears weld up in my eyes as a flashback of both of them kissing plays in my head but I ignore it.
"Fine." I mumble. Hoseok lets out a sad smile as he nods his head. I wait for him to say anything else but he doesn't as he hesitantly takes a step towards me as his arms slightly go up, making it look like he wants to hug me but I look over at my shoulder, refusing to look at him. He understands as he steps back. "I'll text you when it's the day of her funeral." He softly says.
His back faces me as he was about to walk away until I said something. "After the funeral, don't even dare try to make contact with me." I weakly say as my vision blurs with tears. From the corner of my eyes, I see a nod from him. "If only you knew." He mumbles softly to himself but I heard. I was about to ask him what he meant but he immediately leaves. I am quick to close the door behind me as my back leans against the door. My tears then fall as I slid down from the door to where my ass lands on the floor.
I bring my knees to my chest as I wrap my arms around my legs, hugging myself while burying my head inside between my legs and arms as I let out silent cries.
Without realizing, I feel a large hand softly caress my head, making me immediately look up and fear strucks me as I immediately back away from the same stranger from yesterday's event even though the door doesn't allow me to move back any further, seeing the similar cat like eyes and same blonde hair. I then close my eyes as I put my hands up in defense. "Please don't hurt me." I weakly say. I let out a shriek as he grabs both of my wrist. I tightly have my eyes closed but don't feel anything nor hear anything.
I slowly open my eyes and watch him crouch down in front of me with soft eyes. He then hesitantly wraps my arms around his waist as he slowly wraps his arm around my body.
The odd thing was I didn't even try to break out of his embrace because being in the arms of this stranger, it felt too familiar and I felt safe.
But his embrace makes me let out my tears out faster than before, making me sob in his arms as he rubs my back. He doesn't say anything, just staying quiet while all his ears hear are my cries that fill up the silence and the emptiness in the house.
