"Now what.." Paige signed rubbing her thumb gentally on the gold medal as her and Jenna lay on her hotel bed staring up at the ceiling.

Chuckling Jenna turns on her stomach to look up at the blonde, "i don't know what does the USA Basketball Female Athlete of the Year do after she wins a gold medal?" She chuckles making Paige shove her softly shaking her head before a frown is apparent on her face again making Jenna sit up in worry.

"What?"

"It's just this— we spend every second — minute— hour of the day in the gym to train for this and it's over just like that.." Paige sighs hoping Jenna could read in between the lines of how she quite frankly wasnt upset about basketball.

But she didn't,

"Paige, we'll be back next year, it's not long before you have cait and I teasing you!" Jenna smiles trying to cheer up the girl., "When's your flight home?" She asks — a dreaded question they weighed on her heart.

Jenna felt it hard to celebrate her win with the team— with the only thought of having to part ways with Paige weighing on her heart. She wasn't sure what these feelings were for one of her best friends, she's known Paige for years, but not until this year was it more than just a friendship feeling.

"Tomorrow at 10am.." Paige sighs looking up at the green eyes girl, "when's yours?"

"7am" tears began to swell in Jenna's eyes before she looks down at her hands, she didn't want Paige to see her cry, "Paige look i really like—"

"Listen Jenn" Paige whispers, sitting up as her fingers lift Jenna's chin softly. Forcing their eyes to meet, their faces so close Jenna could smell the mint gum that Paige had been chewing, their warm breaths mixing together as one.

Jenna's lips tingled as they missed the feeling of hers only from the night prior.

The dare.

"Thats kiss.." Paige began, "i don't want things to change between us.. It was just a dare.."

"o-oh?" Jenna's breath choking her every word that Paige friend zones her more with.

"But — I'm not going anywhere. You will always be my friend."

The word hit her like a pile of bricks making her speechless as she pulls herself from the bed separating the two of them.

"i-i sh-should go..." Jenna choked rubbing her arms anxiously, "i have to pack.."

"can i see you before we leave?"

"No."
