"The girls... they've betrayed us."

Alfie's words rang through Fabian's head on a loop. It just couldn't be true. Camilla had to be playing some angle they just didn't know yet.

It was Camilla and Amber. They would NEVER betray them. Fabian knew that deep down in his very being.

He just hoped whatever it was they were up to, it would be revealed sooner rather than later because Alfie and Patricia looked heartbroken at the apparent betrayal.

Fabian couldn't help it as he kept glancing to the front door from where he sat in the living room. Dinner had been an awkward time for everyone at Anubis house. First, with the Jerome Mara drama, to the Sibuna realisation that neither Amber nor Camilla seemed to have come back to the house yet. The last thing was what was causing Fabian to keep glancing at the door anxiously constantly.

After everything that had happened in the last 48 hours, he just needed to see his sister stood in front of him physically. Physically see she was okay.

Fabian wasn't the only one acting oddly that evening.

Jerome had sat in his old seat next to Camilla's that dinner time. A clear sign to all in Anubis house that whatever was going on between Mara and Jerome – the Jara ship was approaching stormy waters.

The annoyed look on Mara's face that had appeared at Jerome's blunt change of seating that evening hadn't left as he played with the soup-like consistency of his ice cream, avoiding the girl's gaze. Knowing the mature thing the girl would want to do is talk about whatever was going on with them, but he wasn't sure if he wanted to have the conversation.

He wasn't sure if 'Jara' was worth the black and white simplicity the girl had promised him it would be.

Not anymore.

Not with Camilla around anyway, but Camilla and his feelings for her brought up more things for the boy to think and worry about. Jerome sighed as he looked down at the bowl. He really needed to talk to Alfie just to talk to someone about all this. But the boy was clearly not in the right headspace tonight, not with Amber and Camilla nowhere around. Until the blonde and the female Rutter were back where the trio of Sibuna could see them, Jerome knew he couldn't go to Alfie with his girl-drama. It just wasn't fair to the boy to deal with that when something more serious could be happening.

"Come on, Jerome," Trudy sighed as she walked out the kitchen, clearly having realised the boy wasn't so much eating his dessert as he was playing with it. "I would like to finish clearing the table."

"You'd be surprised how much some people can eat, Trudy," Mara scathingly remarked, looking directly at Jerome, who didn't look the girl in the eye.

Trudy heard the bite in the girl's tone and couldn't help but look between the scowling girl and the boy who looked a mixture of guilty, conflicted and... relieved?

"Have you two had some kind of falling out?" she couldn't help but ask.

From the end of the table, hidden behind a laptop, both KT and Joy let out a small sniggering sound as they tried not to look like they were enjoying the awkward display in front of them.

Mara didn't say anything, but she did roll her eyes at the question from the housemother, and her friends laugh.

"they split up." So joy told Trudy when it was clear neither of the pair were going to say anything.
