We had little time to celebrate before we were swept away to a conference meeting. I thought those things only happened for people in the NHL but I was wrong. I mean I'm not complaining or anything. We all stood up on a little stage,
"Team U.S.A. hockey, and the man chosen to lead them to the gold, Gordon Bombay," Tibbles announced
"Bring the bear up here. This is Henry, the Hendrix bear"Tibbles continued
There was no way that we had a mascot, this just keeps becoming more and more surreal by the second.
"Hello, everyone.!"The bear said enthusiastically
"Guys, I want you to come in, get some shots with the bear," Tibbles asked
We all crowded around the bear while cameras began to flash at all angles.
"Hello, everybody! it's great to be here!"Bombay said
"Okay we are now going to open up to questions now" Tibbles interrupted
"Team U.S.A., how does it feel competing on the international level here in Los Angeles?"A reporter asked.
"Um-" Bombay stutter
"Feels good. Love it.Bloody awesome"We all yelled out
For the remainder of the interview I kinda just zoned out until I was pulled out of my thoughts by someone yelling.
"Team USA is going down, "A very scary kinda looking person said.
"Coach of the Iceland team. He's wound a little tight."Tibbles wisper-yelled.
"Stanton from the N.H.L.? Wolf"The Dentist" Stanton is coaching? You didn't tell me that."Coach said
"it's all right!"Tibbles reasured Bombay
"That guy's a dentist?" Goldberg asked
"That was his nickname," Dean said
"Played one year of pro, collected more teeth than goals," Adam said
"He even punched out his coach," Charlie added
"They ran him out of the league and the country," Jesse said
"What happened to freedom of speech, huh? isn't this America?"Stansson said defensively
"That's his team? Those guys are huge!"Coach said.
"Who the hell am I supposed to defend those guys! I mean I've never let my height get in the way of hockey but there isn't any way in hell I will be able to square up to that lot!"I said
"Welcome to my world," Kenny said.
I chuckled.
Guess I was going to have to start playing a lot harder than I have ever played to be able to stand my ground around these guys.

To celebrate the team went out for some food at a local burger restaurant, although I wouldn't like to say we were those loud annoying kids. I mean we all felt as if we were the kings of the world.
At one point during dinner, we started to dance and sing (quite awfully) to the song playing on the radio. I even got up on a table with Jesse and started dance, it was quite a scene. We were eventually told that we had to be quiet or be kicked out, so we stopped.
We then returned to the dorms with only 10 minutes left until curfew and went straight to bed in preparation for tomorrow's game against Italy.
