Shopping list and meethai ki dukaan(sweets shop):

With their wedding now just a month away, both Gupta and Raizada houses were busy with preparations in full swing.

But Arnav and Khushi were in their own blissful world. Their love which blossomed with their family's wishes, was reaching a new height every day. But at the same time staying away from each other was making it difficult for them.

They talked on phone almost every night, mostly on mundane topics. But sometimes, he would talk about his day at office - which he never talked to anyone about but talking to her always made sense! He wanted to share everything that was in his life, with her. As if her reactions, her approvals meant he was doing something good! Even when she was a degree holder in literature and had no connection to business world. Except him! She honestly wouldn't understand much about the million-dollar deals or projects he would tell her about but hearing him talk about it used to make her so happy. She was proud of his achievements at such a young age!

Meeting each other was becoming more difficult by the day, especially as his family or hers would always want to surround them whenever one of them visited other's home. But thankfully, there were weekends when her otherwise strict father allowed Arnav to take her out on dinners!

And then there were texts. Sometimes just a word, sometimes song lyrics and sometimes questions. Like this one she had just received and had made her feel flustered.

From:Arnavji - "I am re-doing our bedroom. What color do you want for our curtains, pillows, and bedsheet?"

Oh yes, he had already started referring his bedroom as theirs since quite some time now.

She read that message at least 20 times and the more times she read, the more she felt her cheeks color! For someone it might have felt a normal question but for her it felt so intimate. He asked, 'color of bedsheet'. For a bed. Bed that they will share...she hid her face in her old pillow and kept the phone on her side.

He probably waited for her reply which usually wouldn't take more than 5 minutes. And worried why she wasn't replying, he called her.

"Khushi? Tum thik ho(are you ok)?" he asked as soon as she picked her phone

"Uh-Haan(yes)...." she said and then stayed silent.

"Good. Toh suno, our families are going to go for shopping in old Delhi tomorrow, I know Di and your buaji will ask you to join too. Tum chali jana aur(you join them and) I will also come there. We'll go for our shopping from there." so he was all set for their 'bedroom shopping'.

"Eh -our shopping?"

"Yeah. Curtains, pillows, bedsheets, I asked you about it na? Kya hua(what's wrong)?" he asked, oblivious to her flustered state. She sighed.

"But Arnavji, how can we? Everyone will be there."

"We'll sneak out Khushi. Chalo I got to go now. I'll see you tomorrow, ok?"

and before she could reply or protest, he cut the call.

And then just a second later, her phone rang again. It was Arnav again, "Ye kehne ke liye kiya(I called you again to say), I love you." he said, making her heart skip a bit.

He had said that after their shagun(roka) for the first time and every day since then. It's been 4 months and 20 days and she could hear him say it for a million days more.
