Quick note: It seems there's some confusion about his and her versions. To specify, his version is where he is the victim and khushi is a doubtful wife. Her version will be when she is the victim and Arnav is a doubtful partner, which is a new story but has the same theme. I wanted to show both scenarios. Hope that clears up the confusion. Both are two-shots, this being the concluding one for his version.

When Arnav calmed down after a few minutes and came in search of Khushi, she had already left. Cursing under his breath, he ran towards the elevator simultaneously fishing for his phone, trying to call her. He could hear the ring, but she didn't pick up...

He reached home in record time, his hair messy due to running a hand through them in frustration for umpteenth times, all the while trying to call her through Bluetooth while also looking for her on the road. She stayed unreachable...

And when he reached home, his sister and nani stopped his way.

"Wait, Arnav. How could you do this to Khushi bitiya? You made your wife cry over another girl? Humein toh soch ke hi sharm aa rahi hai (I feel embarrassed even thinking about it)" his nani said with a disapproving look.

"You are being unfair to her, Arnav!" his sister added.

For a moment, he felt an urge to defend himself. But then, what was the use? Even after raising him since he was a child, if this is how they think of him, then how can he change their opinion? So, deciding to ignore it for the time, he moved towards Khushi who was standing at a distance, near the window, turning her back towards him...

.

.

"Khushi?" he tentatively kept a hand on her shoulder, trying to gauge her mood. He shouldn't have shouted at her in the office earlier, he knew. But she had tested his patience.

He waited for her to turn around, but she didn't. Taking a deep breath and gathering some more courage, he finally asked,

"Khushi, I didn't know Lavanya was going to be there. I was just - ok, fine, tell me what should I do to make you believe that I don't have anything to do with her? What should I do, ki tum mujh pe vishwas karo(so that you trust me)? Batao mujhe (tell me)."

She slowly turned, wiping away some tears. That made his Nani and Di immediately reach her side and console her...he also didn't like her crying, let alone be the reason. But...

"You already know what I want Arnavji. Terminate her from the job. As long as she works with you closely in your office, I will keep worrying."

He closed his eyes in helplessness. What she was asking for was not only ethically wrong but also unfair! How can he do that?

"Khushi, try to understand. She has not done anything to get fired from her job. She is really good at her work and beyond that we do not even talk much."

"Dekha nani? He is ready to let me be worried sick but not ready to let her go! Agar wo itni hi acchi hai kaam karne mein toh(If she is that good in her work), then she will get a job elsewhere too na? Aapke office mein hi karne ki kya zarurat hai(Is it needed for her to work in your office only)?"

"Arnav, kisi aur ladki ki wakalat karne se accha apni patni pe dhyan dijiye (it would be better if you paid attention to your wife than being an advocate for another girl). Uski iccha ka maan rakhiye(respect your wife's wishes)."

That was precisely when Khushi's mother and her elder sister came in. They wanted to give her a surprise about her sister's pregnancy news, but realizing they had walked into what looked like a tensed scene, they themselves were surprised!
