Ruhana and Vineet have an argument. The girl wanted to spend some time with him. Though they could let their ritual break, Ruhana didn't want to break it. She knew that Vineet strolls in the garden with his friend. She feels that they can see each other and say good night to each other. But everything turns up and down when Ruhana say that he's not happy. She asks him if something is bothering him. Vineet scolds her and asks her to go to her room.

Okay! He is the in-charge. He wants her to be safe. But he did so when she wanted to know about his feelings. Before she brought up the matter, he was casual and talking to her nicely.

Why? Why can't he talk to Ruhana but can talk to Rohan, Rhea and other friends who simply coax him while Ruhana waits for him to pour his heart to her? She is the one who asks him but does not coax him to tell her something or anything. Isn't that enough for Vineet to understand that she is dying to share his pain? She wants to comfort him but only when he chooses to tell her everything.

Vineet stands still when Ruhana says that she won't coax him again. He can do anything that he wishes to. She won't come to him now. She even said that she's tired of being with him and of giving him time. Vineet is still trying to grasp her words and tries to call her but Ruhana doesn't pick up his call. She is surely furious at him. He sighs deeply and moves to his room. He can talk to Ruhana next day. Maybe, her anger will subside by then.

*****
Ruhana is in her room, crying silently. Tears are trickling down her eyes. She didn't think that Vineet would be so difficult to decipher. She didn't expect him to shush her in front of others- her friends and his friends. At least, she is his family. His friends and the other girls who ogle at him don't stand anywhere near Ruhana.

She is surely tired. She has always given him time. She has always given chances to him and hopes him to speak, but he doesn't. It's hard for her to understand him now. She's tired of trying, alone. Vineet doesn't try. He doesn't try to tell her anything.

Ruhana knows every single detail about Vineet and vice versa. They have grown up together, after all. Vineet calls Ruhana's mother "Ma" and her father is his "Dad". The couple has never differentiated between the two. Her parents are his parents too. Ruhana's dad has been guardian to Vineet ever since his mom passed away. Ruhana's mother might have not birthed him, but he is like a son to her. They are one small family.

Okay! Ruhana knows everything. But she wants Vineet to speak. She wants him to laugh, she wants to see him happy. She wants him to open his heart without her asking him. When she can understand him, why can't he? Things are not as complicated as Vineet is making it. Because she abides by his words, he thinks that he can shush her and she will listen to him. But, she won't! At least not now!

Her limit is broken now. She is tired. She can't take his silence anymore. And she has to be someone she didn't want to be, at least for Vineet.

*****
The night passes by. Ruhana didn't sleep for the whole night. Early morning, she stood up and took a warm water shower. Her friends are still asleep, and therefore, she moves to take a shower. Maybe, she will feel better. Half an hour later, Ruhana gets dressed up in black jeans and a pink crop top. She glances at the clock and it is just 7 AM. She decides to get a cup of coffee in the restaurant. She leaves a note for her friends and leaves the room, locking it with her keys.

She walks into the restaurant and orders a cup of steaming coffee. It may help her relax. She's looking into her phone until her coffee arrives. She takes her cup and sits on the corner window table. She's thinking about Vineet, his words, and his behaviour which is different for her and his friends. The only common thing is that they ask him the same question, but with her, Vineet behaves differently. He doesn't tell her anything, even if Ruhana asks him.

She's lost in her thoughts when she feels a known presence around her. She looks up from her coffee mug. It's no one but Vineet. She looks away and concentrates on her coffee mug. Vineet takes his seat opposite her and looks at her.

"Ruhana..." he calls her but she doesn't reply.

"Ruhana! I am sorry!" He says softly.

"No! Don't say sorry! You never mean it." Ruhana snaps at him.

"You know me, Ruu....." He begins to speak but Ruhana cuts him for another time.

"I thought I knew you! But I don't know you. You've been different to me now. You can talk to that Rhea, Rohan, but not me. Just because I listen to you, just because I abide by your words, it doesn't mean that you will scold and shush me in front of others. They may be your friends, but not mine. And I am not your friend, I am family, your only family. But you are free, you can go and talk to those who coax you." Ruhana snaps angrily at Vineet.

She adds something that leaves Vineet surprised, as he didn't think that she'd say that.

To Be Continued.

What did Ruhana say?
