Falling For You

~Chapter #59~

Ruhana is glad that Vineet has decided to take part in the annual fest of the college. She is elated and her happiness is visible on her face. As Vineet’s eyes meet hers while playing the guitar, he silently promises himself that he won’t let her smile diminish ever.

He can do this much for the girl who cares for him so much. This is the least — keeping her happy is his only concern. When she can leave her friends for him why can’t he be happy and mingle with her? Well, he has decided to open up, to be the man she wants him to be — her one and only best friend.

Ruhana is excited and she wants to tell her friends that Vineet has decided to take part in the fest and he will play the guitar. She’s elated and excited, such that, she is not able to hide her excitement. They reach the college as the fest preps have begun. Ruhana has decided to do a skit with her friends and the girls are going to take part in the fashion show as well. The students are excited to have a fashion show which is unusual at the fest this year.

As they reach college, Ruhana runs to meet her friends while Vineet also moves towards his friends and also he needs to meet the Principal, who’s a senior and they will have some responsibilities. They part ways and decide to meet at the main gate in the afternoon again.

Ruhana gets busy in discussions with her friends. They choose a theme and begin to plan the skit. Also, they have to choose dresses for the fashion show. It’s a hell lot of work for them. Annual fest, fashion show and Prom — everything is in line and they’re excited.

The day passes in a blur and it’s afternoon already. Ruhana parts her ways with Shubhi and Priyanka and they head out of the college together. She finds Vineet at the main gate with Rohan and soonish everyone leaves for their homes. Ruhana and Vineet walk together as they have to buy a few things for the home that their mother told them.

Ruhana tells Vineet that she’s taking part in the skit and the fashion show as well. She’s excited that she and her friends are going to design dresses for themselves. Vineet teases her a little but then tells her that he has got his name enrolled in the music competition and it makes the girl jump on her toes happily. Her happiness seems no bounds. She holds his hand and squeezes it lightly.

“I am so happy, Vineet. You know, it seems like my efforts are paying off. Thank you!” She says, showing her gratitude towards her best friend and she’s being genuine.

“Ruhana, I already told you, this is the least I can do for you. Because of all that you do for me, I haven’t done it ever. But I want to do it now.” Vineet says genuinely and it brings a smile to her face.

“That’s enough for me, Vineet. I am eager to hear you on the stage.” Ruhana jumps on her toes.

“That will be for you only!” Vineet says while looking at her.

She smiles big at him as they arrive at the marketplace – The D-mart shopping mall. They get the required things, Vineet gets the things billed up and they carry the bags and walk towards home.

The home is nearby the mall and they reach home in less than 15 minutes. Rekha’s been waiting for them for lunch. They quickly change into casuals and the three of them sit for lunch. They tell her about the fest and they discuss the events. Ruhana also tells her mother to come for the annual function to which the lady readily agrees.

“Silent boy is changing!” Ruhana comments, a smile playing on her lips.

“Hey! You’re still stuck with that! So mean!” Vineet makes a face.

“I’m stuck with you forever! Yeah, we can think of a new name, Musical boy!” Ruhana clicks her tongue out at Vineet who whines at her words.

“It’s not a thing to make face, such a good name. Now that you’re playing guitar, you’re the musical boy!” Ruhana winks at Vineet.

“Maa, tell her not to do like this!” Vineet complains to his mother.

“Ah! In your case, she doesn’t listen to me, Son. And I won’t  stop her now, she’s already waited for a long time.” Rekha says meaningfully.

“Yay! Mumma is on my side. No one can save you from my wrath! And….” she says but pauses.

“And? What are you up to?” Vineet raises his eyebrows at Ruhana.

“And that Rheaa! She’ll face my wrath. Huh! She was again arguing with me!” Ruhana makes a face.

“What did she say now?” Vineet asks.

“Rhea! Rhea Oberoi?”their mom asks and Ruhana makes a face.

“Yeah! Chipku kahin ki! If she again does something, I’ll teach her a lesson.” Ruhana says angrily.

“Calm down, Ruu! She won’t do it. And why are you focussing on her? You should focus on your work. Rhea doesn’t have any work, and even if she has, she has people to do it.” Vineet says, he is not pleased with Rhea.

“He’s right! Why do you get so hyper when it comes to Rhea?” Rekha asks.

“I hate her! And the way she sneaks near to people! And I dunno, what is her problem!” Ruhana says making a face.

“Concentrate on your work, Ruhana. Come on! Grow up! Rhea doesn’t stand near to you in any way.” Vineet says in order to cheer her up.

Ruhana looks at Vineet and he assures her with his eyes. She smiles, calming down a bit. Meanwhile, Vineet’s phone rings and he attends the call while Ruhana helps her mother in winding up the chores. As Ruhana stands near Vineet finishing her work, he says something that leaves her worried as well.
