Vineet and Ruhana finish their assignments and projects are they are now on the preparation break. The idea of the annual fest and the prom after the examination is enough to perk them up for their examinations. Ruhana is very elated, she knows that she can talk to Vineet and convince him to take part in the college fest. Yet, it is a long way to go.

It is a fine day — a holiday. Ruhana is up early, she has showered and is dressed in a casual tee shirt and lowers. She is having her breakfast while scrolling through her phone. Vineet follows her shortly, he is back from his morning jog along with dad. He taps Ruhana’s head in order to tease her and she glares at him.
“Hey, don’t touch my hair. And what are you doing here? Go and shower! You’re stinking.” Ruhana makes a face at him.
“Let me have some coffee!” He says and sits on the chair beside her.
“Noo! Have your coffee later!” Ruhana makes a face at him.
“Noo! You go and study! Jab dekho mobile mein chatting karti rehti ho tum,” Vineet says teasingly.
“Shut up, you silent boy! You tease me but when I talk, you stay silent. Mumma! See your silent boy is teasing me and then he will say I am bothering him.” Ruhana complains to her mom who’s in the kitchen, preparing coffee for Vineet and tea for her husband and daughter.
“You are bothering me, let me concentrate on the newspaper,” Vineet says picking up one of the newspapers lying on the dining table.
“Yeah yeah! That’s what you do? But let me remind you, if you will not talk to me then I will not come to you! Don’t forget that you promised me something. “ Ruhana reminds him of his promise.
He smiles, he knows she is very particular about things that are related to him. She can leave anything for him. For her, he is her ultimate universe and for him, the case is same. Though, Vineet refuses to accept the reality. He assures Ruhana that he will remember his promise and won’t break it at any cost.
She looks at him, as if, she’s asking for his assurance and he assures her with his eyes. He also flashes his cute smile at her which is enough to melt her. Yet, she signals to him that his soft traits won’t work and that he has to abide by his words. He agrees, this is the least he could do for his forever best friend.
Ruhana smiles as soon as she gets reassurance from Vineet. She keeps her plate in the sink and rushes to her room. She has a lot to study and she also asks Vineet to concentrate on the forthcoming exams.
Vineet watches her as she runs to her room after hugging her parents and telling them that they can call her if they need any help. He is famished by her ways, she can help anyone keeping her tasks at stake. She can lose her moments or things but she is always willing to help people around her, especially the ones whom she loves and the ones who hold a special place in her heart.
Vineet also finishes his coffee in the company of his guardian and then his Ma asks him to freshen up and study. Her only motive is that later, they can enjoy some family time during lunch and dinner times. And other than that he can spend time with Ruhana on the terrace. He smiles lightly. He knows all of them love him, care for him and are his family. He can only stay happy for them and look after them by reciprocating the love they hold for him.
He hugs his Ma and moves into his room. Yes, he has a lot of work to do and he has to also spend time with his best friend — His Ruhana. He smiles at his thoughts and gets busy with his studies. It’s gonna be a long day for the two of them.

The day passes in a blur. Ruhana and Vineet are relaxing before dinner. They are discussing some points, their mom is preparing dinner while their father is busy with some work. Maybe, something official. Their mom, Rekha watches them from the kitchen window. She smiles seeing them talking and not teasing. Vineet is explaining something to her and Ruhana is making a face.
“Huh! This is so confusing! We will talk about it later.” She makes a face.
“Hey, try to understand.” Vineet whines at the moment.
“No! I am not getting it and I am hungry. We will continue this tomorrow.” Ruhana announces.
“But this is important, Ruu.” He tries to convince her.
“I know that, Mister! But I am not getting it right now. It’s better to close it. And I am tired.” Ruhana says, keeping her point.
“Huh, lazy girl! Padhai mein bhi nautanki karti ho tum.” Vineet comments at her.
“Ah! As if you don’t do! Stop teasing me, Vineet.” Ruhana shouts.
“I don’t tease you. Tum chidhti ho.” Vineet clicks his tongue at her.
Ruhana grunts and throws the cushion at him while he giggles seeing her whining. He runs into the kitchen and hugs Rekha, complaining about Ruhana. All the while, he has a smile on his face and he’s giggling. Ruhana glances at Vineet and a smile makes its way to her lips. Even if it is teasing her or arguing with her, if he has a smile on his face, she is happy.
Ruhana is happy, her reason is that Vineet is happy. She only hopes that he will break his shell and emerge into a strong being than he already is.
