Falling For You

~Chapter #56~

Ruhana is elated that Vineet is trying to break his shell. He is beginning to share things with her. They spend ample time together and she is happy with the development. Her mother has also signalled to her that he's healing in a way. Maybe, the upcoming fest will bring him out.

Ruhana finishes her diary entry with a quote. She confessed in her diary that she loves Vineet but is unaware of his feelings for her. She can wait though. It's better to make him realise his importance in her life and also to let him confess his feelings. She calls it a night and drifts into her dreamland.

To Be precise, a world where she's happy. Vineet is by her side and there is nothing else that she desires. Her parents and Vineet - - - it is all that Ruhana wants in her life.

She's laughing and he's staring at her. She throws questioning gazes at him while he shakes his head simply. He might not express his feelings and love but his eyes say it all. They say it correctly that eyes speak more than words and in their case, it's true.

Ruhana is still lost in her dreamland when her mother calls her. She opens her eyes and finds her mom sitting beside her. The lady smiles at her daughter and asks her to wake up. Instead, Ruhana keeps her head in her mom's lap and hugs her. The lady smears her head softly and Ruhana looks at her.

"Mumma, things are getting better." She says softly.

"I told you, honey. Things take time to happen. And healing takes time.." Rekha says softly.

"Yeah, mom. I understand. It's just that I can't see Vineet in pain. I can't bear his silence. I get impatient, Maa. But, I think, it is getting better. Vineet is healing." Ruhana chuckles softly.

"He will heal. We are helping him and he will heal up soon." Rekha smiles at her daughter.

"Yes Mumma, and I hope it happens soon after our exams." Ruhana chuckles and rushes into the washroom.

Her mom shakes her head and walks into Vineet's room. She knows that the boy needs some attention too. She ruffles his hair and he wakes up, greeting her. He hugs her and stays in the same position for a long time. He mouths a word of gratitude to the lady and sits up on the bed. Rekha asks him to come for breakfast and leaves the room. Vineet smiles as the lady moves out of the room. She’s been with him for many years and is like his own mom. She’s been very considerate of him and cares for him as a mother.

This family has given him love, joy, smiles and blessings always. They care for her like his own parents would have done for him. And he didn’t fail to notice the excitement in Ruhana’s eyes and his Maa looked happy as well. It may take some more time for him to heal.

And he will heal — heal for Ruhana and her parents.

The days pass and soonish, it’s the week of their exams. Ruhana and Vineet are all set to go to college. Rekha and her husband wish them for the exams. They’re excited enough, for as the exams will end, they will be able to celebrate the fest and enjoy the prom. Ruhana is excited that she’ll talk to Vineet and persuade him to take part in the cultural program of the fest.

Since Vineet is trying to heal, Ruhana feels that he will agree with her. He already said that he’ll do everything that he can for her. And Ruhana hopes that Vineet will not back off now. Soonish, the days pass and they finished with the exams. And it’s time for the fest.

Ruhana is elated and she’s all set to converse with Vineet. Things will change for sure, she hopes and she’s all set for it.
