Another season had gone by and as fall arrived, Juliette saw her life being better than it ever was. Messy and a little complicated, but everything she could wish for. Ever since her wedding back in July, everything had been wonderful between her and Carlos and they enjoyed the break for their honeymoon as well as fixing some details of the biggest change of their lives.

On August 15, Santiago Edwards Sainz was officially adopted, becoming part of the small and loving family they wanted to create. He was a 2-years-old half Portuguese and half English little boy, but that'd be the least of their worries when all they could notice was his chestnut, thick hair and adorable dimples every time he smiled.

Juliette and Carlos couldn't help but immediately fall in love with him as they first saw him and the boy smiled sweetly with his small and separated teeth and waved at the couple mindlessly. He looked so innocent, sweet and in need of love they couldn't stop themselves from bringing him home as soon as they could.

Of course they did everything they could for his adaptation to a new house and family to run as smoothly as possible and couldn't help but feel relieved at how open Santi turned out to be, acting like a real charmer and people pleaser every time he met someone new.

After a couple of weeks, Juliette's heart would still overflow every time she'd get up early just to stand by the door side and watch as her baby boy peacefully slept in his bed before he'd get up and rush inside her arms. There was absolutely no doubt at how easy Santi was to love, but what still surprised her was how easy the boy opened up and trusted his parents with his life, making her feel a big responsibility on her shoulders— one she wouldn't mind carrying forever.

Those three weeks that the three of them spent together were the absolute best ones of their entire lives and Juliette and Carlos didn't doubt their decision not even for a minute. Which turned saying goodbye even harder once the driver had to go back to work and his routine of constantly flying across the world.

As Carlos was in Netherlands, Juliette stayed in their home with Santi by herself. The Sainz family had offered her to stay over with them but she'd rather spend some time with her son and give him some more time to adjust. Their routine was as easygoing as Juliette could've wished for as she'd cook him breakfast before the two of them proceeded to some fun activities— like drawing, playing cars or tag in their backyard.

Santi was incredibly energetic, making Juliette tired from running around and giving in to his wishes, but still immensely grateful to have this opportunity. Putting him to sleep was definitely her favorite part as she'd sit on the edge of his car shaped bed and read a bedtime story before watching the boy she'd promised to protect with her life slowly falling into a peaceful sleep.
