38: Big Trip

Ironically, I spent most of my night tossing and turning.  I don't understand why.  My body is tired as well as my eyes, but my brain just won't let me fall asleep.  Ugh!

I check the time on my alarm clock and groan.  It's midnight.  Adam told me earlier on this week that Frank will pick me up at one.  I sigh, I got no sleep whatsoever and now I actually have to get up and get ready.

After five minutes of just laying in bed, I decide to get up and take a shower.  I wash my hair and shave my legs just for good measures.  After my shower, I put on my airplane clothes and throw my hair up into a top knot.  I applied some light makeup: mascara, eyebrows and light lip gloss to top off my look.

When I was done getting ready, it was almost one.  I threw my phone in my purse and grabbed my suitcase and left my room.  When I entered the living room, I looked over at Carly to see if she's awake.  But she looked sound asleep and I decided that it'd be rude to wake her up.

I slowly and quietly opened the door and closed it behind me, locking it up.  The brutal cold air immediately attacked my face, making me grateful that I decided to wear warm clothes.

I didn't have to stand outside in the cold for long since five minutes later, Frank pulled up along the curb with Adam's Maserati.

He got out of the car and opened the door for me.  I smile at him and hopped in the backseat as he popped my suitcase in the trunk.

Since I didn't get any sleep last night, I decide to use this time to try to.  As soon as Frank started the car, I immediately closed my eyes and let sleep drift me away.

But I guess I hadn't factored in how long it'll take to get to JFK since next thing I know I have Frank calling my name, waking me up.

"Miss?  We're here."  He says, opening my door.

I open up my eyes and groggily get out of the car as Frank takes out my luggage.  He hands it to me and I thank him.

"Mr. Smith is waiting for you right inside."  Frank informs me as he points to the glass doors that lead to terminals.

I slowly nod my head as I yawn.  "Thank you."

"No problem.  Have a nice trip."  He smiles, before getting back into the car and driving away.

I sigh and roll my luggage with me inside the airport.  I checked the time.  For 1:15 in the morning, there are sure a lot of people here.

I spot Adam in the Delta airlines baggage check line and make my way over.  But what made me stop in my tracks was the person he was with.  What. In. The. Hell. Is. This?  Why the hell is she with him?

I inhale a few deep breaths and march my way over to the long line.  Adam was the one who saw me first as he turned around.  Despite him looking insanely attractive in his black pants and white button down with sleeves rolled up, I am beyond pissed at him.  When was he going to tell me that Vianna was coming along?  Does he not know my pure hatred for her?  Oh I know he did not just swoop down this low.

"Elizabeth."  Adam simply says, nodding his head to me once I arrive, standing behind them.

Adam's little acknowledgement towards me caused Vianna to turn around, whipping her long blond hair in my face.  The look on her face once she registered who I was, was priceless.
