I couldn't stand watching Adam with this random woman on his arm.  Who does he think he is?  He can't just treat me like this after we've had a nice week!  I thought we both felt the same for each other.  Irritated and annoyed, I get up and go to the bar at the back of the room.

I don't plan on drinking away my sorrows, but I need something to distract myself away from him.  I sit down on a stool and flag the bartender.

"Gin and tonic please."  I order.

"Sure thing."  He complies.  While the bartender is preparing my drink, I felt a presence make their way in a seat next to me.

I look over and see that it's Anthony Wilde.  He looks just as handsome as before, but a little tired.

"Hey."  I say, watching his face from the side.

He turns his head in my direction as his eyes takes a moment to register who's talking to him.  "Why if it isn't Ms. Elizabeth Ennis, how are you doing?  You look lovely tonight."

Nodding my head, I smile at his compliment.  "Thank you, you don't look half bad yourself."

"Ahh," he shrugs, "thank you."

"So what're you doing here at the bar?  You should be enjoying the night."  He asks, raising a brow up.

I glance over at my table where Adam is and his new arm candy.  "Um...I don't know, I guess I just want to start my party a bit early if you know what I mean."  I chuckle in spite of my annoyance.  "What about you?"

He shrugs, "my date bailed on me."

I glance over at him in shock.  A handsome guy like him?  Getting stood up?  That must be really tough.  But it's relatable in a sense. I was about to say something in response, but suddenly a dark plot came to mind. Something that I'm not going to be proud of, but I need to get pay back towards Adam.

"I've got an idea, why don't I be your date?" I offer, leaning my head towards him.

He gives me an odd look, a mix of surprise and curiosity.

"...and why would you do that?"

I shrug, "you need a date...I need a date...so it works out both ways."

"Woah, I thought Adam was your date?" He says, knitting his brows together.

"Come on, really?" I scoff as I gesture my arm towards the table. Anthony takes a moment to glance at Adam and his girl, and then he looks over at me.

"I guess..." he trails off, thinking about his decision.

"It's only for the night..." I try to persuade, raising up a brow.

While Anthony was thinking about his decision, the bartender presented me with my gin and tonic.  I take a couple of small sips, waiting for an answer.  But when it doesn't come, I complete my swig and get up.

"If you make up your mind, you know where to find me."  I whisper in his ear before I leave.

I head back to my table and sit down, suddenly aware of Adam's eyes drilling holes through my skull.

I meet my eyes with his and stare him down, wondering what he could possibly be mad about now.

"What were you doing with Anthony Wilde over there?"  He asks me in a cool tone.

I look over at his new girl and then back at him, shrugging.  "Business."

"What kind of business?"  Adam challenges, obviously getting annoyed.
