Chapter 18

Manik's POV

It has been almost two weeks since that day when Myra and I had that talk.

I made it a point to talk to her on a video call for at least ten to fifteen minutes daily. She seemed to be opening up a bit and we were getting a bit more comfortable.

We talked about our likes and dislikes, our dreams, passions etc. She was a modern girl with a determination to make a difference and a place for herself in the world. I liked it about her. She was sweet as her dad but hot-tempered and hot and sexy like her mom.

Viren has always been a very caring and protecting brother around her. But haven't we all been like that??

I was not having many problems being here, it's just that, I have always lived with chachu and Chachi and grew up with Mihir and Mahi. So I missed them. The haveli seemed to be even larger now for just me.

I just wonder when was Roshni supposed to come. though it has been more than two weeks, since I hurt her feelings, there hasn't been a single day, when I had not thought about her.

The lawyer said she would come to stay at haveli when her hostel would close down for renovation.

She must be here in a day or two. I have been feeling very bad for what I did. She is just a lonely child, even younger than our Mahi. I felt so bad for her. I didn't bother her again as Chachi had told me to let her cool down.  But I think, it's time I try to talk to her.

Or shall I wait, till she comes to live here in the haveli??

No, I think, I must wait there near her hostel. I would apologise and ask her when would her hostel shut down and she would come and stay at the haveli. I would make her feel welcomed in this haveli. My grandfather made her feel welcome, so I need to do my duty... I mean,  must treat her with respect as my grandfather would have expected.

So while we were going to my office, I asked the driver to stop the car near the hostel.

I kept waiting for five minutes but she didn't come out. I was worried about her.  Was she alright? I waited for anyone to come out so I could ask her to call her.

But I was surprised that no one came out. I went up to the main door of the hostel and felt as if it was deserted.

Shit!! Had it already shut down for the renovation? But Roshni had not come to haveli, where was she? Was she still staying here? Alone?

I looked around but no one was there just then I saw the gatekeeper who was coming towards the door.

" I want to meet Roshni Mehta. "

" The hostel is closed. No one is here. " He said and I was shocked.

" Not even a single student is here?? Where are all the students?? "  I asked.

" Everyone made their arrangements. How do I know where are they? "  He replied.

Maybe, it got closed recently, she might come to the haveli today.

" Since when is the hostel closed? "  I asked.

" One week. " He said and I was shocked beyond a limit.

Where was she?? Why didn't she come to live at the haveli??

Why would she?? You hurt her with your rude behaviour. My soul scolded me

But... She needs to come and stay at haveli if her hostel is closed. It's her home.

Is it?? You didn't make her feel like that?? You behaved as if she was an unwanted guest. Why would she have come if she was not welcomed? It argued again.
