Your POV

When I woke up the next morning, I looked around at the unfamiliar surroundings and was confused for a second, before all the memories from yesterday came flooding back. Shawn had taken us to a cabin in the middle of nowhere to be alone. I rolled over in the bed and found Shawn sleeping peacefully. His slow breathing and relaxed face emphasized the tranquility I felt here. I wrapped an arm around Shawn and buried my face in his shoulder. Soon, Shawn began to stir, his eyes fluttered open slowly and his gaze met mine. His face lit up with a smile when he saw me.

"Morning, baby girl," Shawn said, his voice a bit raspy.

"Morning," I murmured.

"What do you want to do today?" Shawn asked.

"I don't know. But right now, I don't want to do anything. I just want to stay in bed," I told him.

"That can be arranged," Shawn smiled.

Shawn pulled me slightly closer to him and wrapped his arms around me. I flung a leg over his body, which was still bare from the night before.

We stayed like that for a while, not talking- just enjoying each other's presence. Eventually, I broke the silence.
"Shawn?"

"Hmm?"

"Why exactly did you bring us all the way out here? I mean I love it. It's amazing. But why?"

Shawn shifted to face me. "Because I think we were getting too caught up in our lives, which can get stressful. I think we both needed a break. A chance to focus on us, only us. I don't know about you, but I desperately needed alone time with you."
Now that he said that, I realized I hadn't been able to focus on just Shawn in a long time and I missed it. I needed to be alone with Shawn, too.

"Me too. I missed this," I told Shawn, referring to what we were doing- cuddling, loving each other, and worrying about nothing. Then I was reminded of another question I had. "So now I know why you brought us here. But now I want to know how. How do you just have a key to a random cabin in the middle of nowhere?"

Shawn chuckled. "This is the studio I was telling you about. The one where I write most of my songs. I've been wanting to bring you here for a while."

"Oh. So this is where you go all the time. It really is peaceful. I guess that's why you chose it to write songs in."

"Yep. Everywhere else is way too loud. And you should hear the way the instruments sound in here. It's amazing."

"Can you show me?" I asked eagerly.

"Maybe later. Right now I think I want to go take a bath. Care to join me?"

"Not at all, Mendes. Not at all."

He smiled at me and said "All right. Wait here while I go run the water."

"Okay," I agreed. He kissed my forehead briefly, then got up and left the room. A few seconds later, I heard the sound of a faucet being turned on.

As I laid there, I imagined Shawn's bare body in water. I had taken showers with him and been in the pool with him, but I had never taken a bath with him. I was pretty excited for it.

A few moments later, I heard the water shut off and Shawn call "Babe, the water's ready."

I smiled to myself at his pet name as I got up off the bed and walked towards the bathroom. The sight in the bathroom was amazing. There were rose petals spread all around the edge of the tub and a few candles flickered softly, illuminating the dark room. The huge bathtub was full of light pink bubbles that sparkled in the candlelight. The image was complete with Shawn sitting on the edge of the tub, smiling at me.
