Your POV

I wasn't really sure why I was still here. I had been dragged to this drunk-people-infested party because my friends -who had already ditched me-wanted to go, and I got dragged along. This wasn't my usual thing. I didn't drink, I didn't party, and I didn't dance. My idea of a wild night was rewatching a full season, in one sitting, of my favorite TV show.

I just stuck to one corner of the kitchen, avoiding all social interactions. Suddenly Ashley, one of the girls I came here with, jumped at me, grabbing my arm. "They're playing Spin the Bottle and Seven Minutes in Heaven upstairs. You've got to come play," she begged.

"I don't think I should," I said hesitantly.

"Come on. Please. It'll be fun. There's not going to be that many people playing. And it'll be quieter up there," she begged.

"All right. Fine," I agreed with a sigh. Ashley smiled and dragged me upstairs to a bedroom with about ten other people sitting in a circle on the floor, with an empty beer bottle in the center.

I looked at the people playing -the people I might have to kiss. Most of them look completely wasted, so they probably wouldn't remember the game at all tomorrow. There was one boy, however, who looked completely sober, and as if he didn't want to be there any more than I did. That boy was Shawn Mendes, who happened to be my crush since freshman year. My heart rate picked up at the thought of kissing him.

Calm down, I scolded myself. He was just one person. It was very unlikely that the bottle would land on me and him.

But on the first spin, the bottle landed on me. My mind was having a battle with itself. Don't land on Shawn. Please land on Shawn. Don't land on Shawn.

Guess who it landed on. Yep, that's right. It landed on Ashley. I didn't particularly want to kiss her. When I hesitated, the girl who appeared to be running the game said "All right. Since neither of you are lesbians, you don't have to do Seven Minutes in Heaven. It can just be a quick peck."

Ashley shrugged and came over and pecked me on the mouth. The other people -mainly the guys- cheered. I rolled my eyes, and the game continued. The bottle landed on several other drunk people. Most of them went into the closet for seven minutes, sometimes longer. When you were one of the people on the outside, it was pretty awkward. Some of the guys cheered their friends on, but other than that all you could hear were very intimate sounds coming from the other side of that door.

Eventually the bottle landed on Shawn. Then it landed on me. My eyes widened in shock, and I looked at Shawn. He smiled and got to his feet. I still hesitated, but Ashley shoved me. "Go," she mouthed. She knew I had a crush on him.

I think the other people knew, too, because they cheered really loud. I cringed. Was it that obvious I liked him? So obvious that drunk people knew?

I followed Shawn into the closet, and the door closed behind us, leaving us in pitch black. "We don't have to..." I started.

I was cut off by Shawn's lips on mine. I gasped in shock, but I kissed him back. He was a very good kisser. His lips were soft, warm, and gentle. I felt his fingers dig into my waist as he tried to pull me closer to him. I cautiously slipped one hand down to the hem of his shirt and slid it under. When he didn't stop me, I slipped both hands under and traced his muscles. This kid was seriously built. I could feel his solid six pack flexing under my fingers.

He broke his mouth away from mine and moved in to my throat. I took the opportunity to catch my breath. His lips explored my jaw, the column of my throat, and my collar bones. He found a soft spot right below my ear that I didn't know I had. I moved my hands up to tangle in his hair, keeping him against me. He left a trail of kisses up my jaw, back to my lips.

He didn't seem to want to do anything else. He didn't try to force his tongue in my mouth or take off my clothes; he was very sweet about it. I was letting myself get completely lost in the kiss when someone banged on the door.

"Come on, guys. It's been 10 minutes!" We jumped and broke apart.

I felt a heat rise to my cheeks. I was grateful that it was dark and Shawn couldn't see me. I took a deep breath and tried to pull myself together before opening the door. When we came out everybody cheered. I ducked my head, and we took our places back in the circle.

As the game started again, Ashley leaned over to whisper in my ear. "So how was it? Is he a good kisser?"

"It was great, and he's an amazing kisser."

"Do you think you're ever going to talk to him again?" she asked.

"I don't know." I glanced over the circle to find him already watching me. Both of our eyes widened and we looked away.

I snuck a few shy glances at him throughout the rest of the game, and I knew he was doing the same.

After about 5 more rounds, we decided that the game should be over. We all got up to head downstairs. I ended up being one of the last ones out, and right before I walked out, Shawn called out after me.

I spun around to look at him. "Look, I'm sorry about what happened in there. I shouldn't have done that."

"Oh. No! Don't be sorry. I didn't mind it. You're a great kisser by the way."

"Thanks," he chuckled. He paused before saying, "Do you think maybe we could go out sometime? Maybe to the movies, or dinner, or whatever you want."

I smiled. "I'd love to."

"Awesome!... I mean, that's cool." He tried to play it cool, but he couldn't hide the smile on his face. He was adorable.

"All right. Do you want my number?" I asked.

"Yeah. Just tell it to me, and I'll text you, so you get my number."

"All right mine is xxx-xxx-xxxx."

"Got it." A moment later my phone buzzed in my pocket.

I pulled it out to look at the message.
It said: Are you free Sunday night?
Instead of texting back, I just looked up at him and nodded. Another smile broke out over his face. I created a contact for his number, and then took a few steps towards him. I pressed a kiss to his cheek, and then turned and left the room, leaving him standing there. A smile stayed etched on my face for the rest of the night. I finally got a chance with Shawn.
