Your POV

"Come on, (Y/N) It'll be fun," Shawn persuades.

"No, it won't. You know how much I hate haunted houses. Or haunted anything," I complained.

"Yeah, but I'll be there. If anything wants to get you, they'll have to go through me first. And they're not allowed to touch you. It'll be fine," Shawn says in a reassuring voice.

"I don't know..." I say, still doubtful.

Shawn looked at me with a big doe-eyed face of pleading. "Please?" He begged.

I couldn't resist that face. "Fine," I groaned.
.........

And that's how I ended up here; waiting in line for a haunted house, the night before Halloween with Brian, Ian, Geoff, and Shawn, of course. My fingers were loosely threaded through Shawn's, but they began to tighten as we got closer to the front of the line. Shawn smiled down at me reassuringly. "It'll be all right," he promised. "Don't forget, I'm right here. I won't let anything hurt you."

I smiled weakly back at him. I still wasn't sure about this, but before I knew it, we had made it to the front of the line and we were standing at the entrance of the house.

"Boo!" Someone shouted from behind me, grabbing me. I screamed and whirled around only to find a laughing Ian.

"Really, Ian?" I snapped, smacking his arm.

"You should have seen your face," Ian manages to gasp out through his laughter.

"It wasn't funny," I reply indignantly.

"Yes, it was," Brian chimes in.

"Guys, leave her alone," Shawn says, exasperated. "You don't know how much persuading I had to do to get her here and I don't want her backing out because of you."

"Fine," Ian grumbles.

"Look, the line is starting to move. We're almost inside," Geoff says suddenly.

I looked up and realized he was right. We were right at the door now. Five more steps and we'd be in.

"Shawn, I don't think I can do this," I say, beginning to panic.

Shawn pulls me to the side and lowers his head to brush his nose against my cheekbone. "What exactly are you afraid of?" He whispers. (A/N: yes, I'm using a Twilight scene)

"Um... Murderers, clowns, witches, Ian, knives, chainsaws..." I trail off as Shawn begins to kiss my jaw. I begin to relax slightly.

"Now what are you afraid of?"

"Knives, chainsaws..."

Shawn begins to nibble on my earlobe. "Do you think I'm going to let anyone hurt you?" He breathes.

"No," I whisper.

Shawn pulls back to kiss my lips. As I kiss him, I feel all my fears melting away.

"Come on, lovebirds," Ian snaps, breaking the kiss. "We've had to let 4 people go in front of us because of you two."

I pull back to look into Shawn's eyes and I get a sudden burst of confidence. I think I can do this. I grab Shawn's hand and walk over to the group and we go in together. It immediately gets darker and I can't see anything, but I can feel Shawn's hand. Soon, my eyes adjust and I can see some of the decorations they've put up. There are bats, spiders, skeletons, cauldrons, and a lot of other things. There's loud, eerie music playing, drowning out everything. While I'm looking at the decorations, a man in a leather jacket and a hockey mask with a chainsaw jumps out in front of me. I scream and fling myself into Shawn's arms, burying my face in his chest. Shawn's arms constrict around me and I stay there for a little while. He made me feel safe.

"Why did I ever agree to do this?" I groaned.

"You said you could do it," Shawn reminded me.

"Yeah, but I was under influence when I said that," I argued.

"Under influence of what? I didn't think you had any alcohol today."

"I didn't. I was under the influence of you. You hypnotized me or something."

"All I did was kiss you," Shawn says, innocently.

"Exactly," I sigh. "But let's just go and get this stupid haunted house over with."

I step out of Shawn's embrace and begin walking forward. I make it a few steps when I realize I had let go of Shawn's hand when I hugged him. I whirled around frantically looking for him, but the dark mixed with all the fog and people made it impossible to find him. I spun around to try and find the exit and a clown jumped out in front of me with a large butcher's knife covered in blood. I screamed so loud, the entire town must have heard me.

"(Y/N)!" I heard Shawn yell from somewhere, but I was too scared to move and try to find him. The clown continued to stare at me and all the stories about killer clowns flashed through my head. I mentally cursed my brother for making me watch the movie "IT" with him. Suddenly I felt hands wrap around my waist. That snapped me out of my trance and I spun around, ready to slap anyone who touched me, but it was just Shawn.

Shawn pulled me away from the clown and I collapsed into his arms, shaking. Shawn clutched me close to his chest and rubbed small circles in my back. "It's okay, it was all fake. He was just in a costume. It's all right," Shawn kept repeating in a reassuring tone. I eventually calmed down enough to walk to the exit, which was a few yards away. I was still shivering as we walked out and Shawn kept an arm around me. The other guys were already outside and they were waiting near the car.

"Hey (Y/N)," Ian said cheerfully, coming up to me. "How was it?"

"Horrible," I retorted.

"Oh, come on. It couldn't have been that bad," Brian said.

I thought of the clown and shuddered again, grateful for Shawn's arm around me. "It was that bad. I hated it."

I turned to Shawn and said "How could you make me do that. I'm so mad at you right now."

"I'm sorry," Shawn said, looking truly apologetic.

"I guess I can forgive you," I sighed. "But you're staying at my house tonight," I ordered.

"All right. I can live with that."
