Your POV

The first arms that I walked into were my mother's. Her face was streaked with tears. I hugged her and then I was passed from person to person. I didn't even recognize all the faces. Shawn and I both got hugs from both sides of the family. Even as I was hugged, I kept one hand in Shawn's. I had just gotten him to keep forever and I didn't want to let go so soon.

Once we had hugged pretty much everyone there, people began to leave the room. "Where are they going?" I asked Shawn.

"To the ballroom for the reception," Shawn told me.

"There's a ballroom here?" I said incredulously.

"Well it's really just a big room that can be used as a ballroom. That's where the cake and stuff is," Shawn explained.

"Oh," I nodded and began walking towards the doorway to the ballroom.

"Wait," Shawn said, catching my arm.

I whirled around to look at him. By now, we were the only ones left in the room. He pulled me towards him until I was pressed against his chest. His arms constricted around me and my arms wrapped around him. I tilted my head up a bit to look at him in confusion.

"I wanted to be alone with you for a few minutes," he explained. "I haven't gotten any alone time with you today. And the ballroom doesn't have any balconies that we could go out to like they do in the movies." He smiled at me.

I smiled back at him and laid my head on his chest. "I love you," I murmured after a moment.

"I love you, too," he mumbled back. He gently pushed me off his chest and looked me up and down. "You look completely and utterly gorgeous by the way," he informed me.

"You don't look too bad yourself," I said, straightening the flower pinned to his lapel.

He smiled and his eyes softened. He slowly leaned forward until our foreheads touched and our breath mingled. I laced my hands behind his neck and his rested on the small of my back. He slowly closed the space between us and pressed his lips to mine. I kissed him back passionately, losing myself in his lips.

A few seconds later, Aaliyah's voice cut through the layers of happiness. "Come on, you two. We can't start the first dance without you."

Shawn ignored his sister and tightened his arms around me, kissing me deeper. I heard Aaliyah sigh and she came over and tugged on Shawn's arm. "Come on. You'll have plenty of time to do that on your honeymoon. Mom wants you in the ballroom now."

Shawn finally pulled back with a sigh and a rueful look. "Are you ready?" he asked me.

"Yep. Let's go," I said cheerfully.

Shawn laced his fingers through mine and we followed Aaliyah to the ballroom. The crowd cheered when we entered, and I lowered my a head, a blush rising to my cheeks.

Karen came up next to us and said "Come on. It's time to start the first dance."

"I can't dance," I said, panic rising in me.

"Well neither can I," Shawn said. "But we can go out there and be bad dancers together."

I smiled at him and took the hand that he offered to me. He brought me out to the dance floor and Mahogany, the DJ, started playing 'From the Ground Up' by Dan+Shay. Shawn placed his hands on my waist and I put mine behind his neck. We had decided that we didn't want to be the only ones on the dance floor, even for the first dance, so a few other couples danced around us. We mostly just swayed back and forth because neither of us knew what we were doing. Shawn twirled me around once and we kissed, causing many camera flashes to go off around us. After the first dance, Shawn took off his tuxedo jacket, leaving him in just the button up shirt, the vest, and the tie. Many other men did the same.
