The next time it was her who saw him first.

He was standing near the hall with a bunch of people. He had one hand in his jeans pocket and the other one rested on a guy's shoulders. He was laughing at something someone had said and she noticed a light dimple on his left cheek.

She recognized one of the girls in the group; she was a senior. Which meant that the guy was a senior too.

She looked down and tried to resume her reading but she kept glancing up for some reason. Was she hoping to catch his eye?

Of course not, she told herself firmly. Why would she do that?

Lamees tried to get back into the story again but found it hard to concentrate. So she got up and decided to read somewhere else.

She passed by their group and forced herself to keep walking without looking their way but at the last moment, she glanced behind her shoulder and her eyes widened when she found that those green eyes were on her again.

She whipped back around without properly seeing his expression and walked away, cursing at herself.
