This chapter is dark... suck it up. It's story building. 🙃

Lana POV

I wished I had stayed asleep, yet my eyes fluttered open. The moment they opened I was being yanked up by a rope around my wrists and neck, two separate ropes at that. My arms were raised above my head and the rope around my neck high enough so I had to stand on my tippy toes, my breath caught in my throat. I glanced around to see two men, one with a gun and the other busy tying the two ropes. A tiny window way out of reach at the moment.

"You finally awake?" The mans accent was thick as he spoke and approached me. He motioned to a camera with his gun. "Say hi to your people-"'I glared at him before he smirked and swiped my feet out from under my legs, my body hanging from the rope around my neck until I gained my stability again on my tippy toes. "-Are you a mute? Keep an eye on her."

He left the room and I finally had a chance to look around. I wasn't far from where we had been, I knew by the mere structure of the building and sounds.

"Why do you not speak? Don't you realize if you do not speak he is going to kill you?" The armed man looked at me before shaking his head as if disappointed in my choices. I looked towards the camera for a moment until the other man came back in the room with a bat.

I felt numb to be honest. It was as if I was back here with Nicholas. The man smirked and swung with all his might at my stomach. I hung onto the rope that were around my hands, taking some of the pressure off my neck. Before I could get my breath back I felt the wood collide with my body once more, my black t-shirt providing no cushion to it's blow.

"What were you looking for!?" I glared at him still, he smirked before sitting the bat down and rolling up his sleeves. "You aren't going to make this easy are you?" His fist connected with my cheek then nose, blood running down my face as I shook my head slightly to regain my senses. He chuckled walking around me for a moment before nodding his head. "Let her hang... I will get her to talk soon enough." He stepped close to me and I spit my blood in his face. If I wasn't already in enough pain, I'd bought another four swings of the bat to my torso. If my ribs weren't cracked they were surely broken. His range seeped to the surface as he swung at my leg, I merely groaned.

I nearly sighed of relief once him and his partner left the room. The pulsing in my ears adding to the pressure in my head as I observed my surroundings once more. I looked to the camera before closing my eyes for a moment, listening to the foot steps outside the room. I mouthed the words. Five men and same town. If the man was telling the truth then Erik would be able to read my lips. I opened my eyes and ran my memories through my brain once more. Naomi, she was the reason I didn't make it out in time. She knew they'd be there. She'd waited to send me on my way.

I needed to rest my legs and so I pulled myself up slightly with my arms. Once again giving my neck a break from the rope being so tight. The air felt hot with each breath, the pain in my torso making each breath radiate with pain, yet breathing was all I could control at this moment. Truth be told the men didn't come back for at least a day. My stomach ached for food and my lips dry for water. Sleep never sounded so good, yet making it out alive was the only thing on my mind at this moment.

"I heard you missed us?" The one man smirked slightly and sat down a box on the table in the corner. "Still not talking? Hmmm." He lifted a metal stick from the box. "When I was a kid, before your people came and ruined this land, my father was a goat farmer and a sheep farmer. He poked the sheep and the goats with this metal stick in the neck and sides, they would yelp and run off. I asked my father why he would hurt the animals and he said to me; I want them to learn to stay in this field and to teach them a lesson." He chuckled slightly as he watched the tip of it spark with electricity.

"I found a device in your pocket, but it was shattered... what was that device?" He walked towards me and clicked the button again. "I really can not wait to hear the screams from you. It was like a thousand lightening bolts to my neck, yet I refused to scream. I refused to make a noise. I wouldn't give them the satisfaction of such a victory.

My head spun once he stopped, I squeezed my eyes shut, I could feel blood dripping down my neck from where ever he had held that device. Yet he wasn't getting the result he expected and went after the one thing holding me up. My legs. Even through my cargo pants I could feel the electric current. Sure enough it burned a hole in the side of my pants and was stinging my thigh. Sure enough my legs gave out one after another and I hung with my arms for dear life. I gasped for air for what felt like minutes until the rope let me fall to the ground. Yet the pain didn't stop until my brain shut down and unconsciousness welcomed me into it's embrace like a sweet mistresses or his arms at the end of the day. I was just a fighter like Dom, except my battle was for my life.
