Dom POV

My first recollection of waking up was the aching all over. My body hurt and there was no doubt about that for sure. I opened my eyes and maybe that was when that nauseous butterfly feeling took over. Her eyes were closed, hand grasping mine against her cheek as she slept with her head on my thigh. Conor smirked slightly seeing me awake.

"She just fell asleep. She's been up since she got here, which was almost a whole day ago." I licked my lips before attempting to speak, yet I had no words to say. Instinctively I ran my thumb along her cheek, which was slightly bruised from something. It'd been a long time since I had seen her and yet she still seemed to give me that overwhelming sensation. Dare I say a car accident was well worth the price.

"How you feeling mate?"

"Alright other than sore." I mumbled, yet I didn't take my eyes off of her, my thumb still brushing against her cheek. She'd rarely sleep this deeply. Her features were relaxed, eyes completely shut.

"Your mom and the others should be back soon. Urijah went to grab some coffee. We've all been here since the accident." She stirred slightly, a smile found its way to my lips just hearing her groan in detest to the noises. Only once I chuckled did her eyes shoot open, those baby blues locked onto me before she jolted up.

"Hey beautiful." I stroked her cheek before she leaned forward and pressed her lips to mine. Her forehead pressed against mine as I spoke. "Had I know I just needed to get in a car accident to get you back I would have done so a long time ago."

"I'm sorry." She whispered, her hands settling onto either sides of my face. "I shouldn't have assumed so quickly. You just really pissed me off." We both laughed yet she pulled away when the door opened. Urijah grinning with of course coffee in hand.

"Ah finally! You two without each other is just awful." He handed her one of the coffees and I snagged her hand, pulling her to coil up and sit beside me. I needed her around more than anything in this moment. It was like home tended to be with her. She sipped her coffee, but nonetheless I could see just how exhausted she was by the marks under her eyes. Dark like a sky during a thunderstorm.

"Dare I ask how you got this bruise?" I whispered, my hand collapsing hers into mine.

"I was over in Syria training some soldiers hand to hand combat. Needless to say one of them had terrible aim." She rolled her eyes before looking towards the mirror. "Though it looks a lot better than it did before."

" When did you get back?"

"Three days ago."

" She hasn't slept." Kiki chimed in walking into the room with my mom who nearly ran over to me and hugged me.

"Ah my baby boy. What did I tell you about buckling up." I chuckled weakly before she let me go.

"When can I go home?"

"I will ask the doctor." Suzette hurried out, Kiki sighing as she followed after her like a protector. Urijah cleared his throat and motioned to the door.

"Conor let's grab some food. We'll bring you two back something." I nodded, yet of course caught on to everyone almost intentionally leaving us alone. Once the door shut I sighed and coiled my arms around her, closing my eyes as I took a deep breath of her familiar perfume.

"Can we not fight ever again."

"Mmm and can we stop ending up at the hospital?" She mumbled before pressing her lips to mine.

"As long as you come home with me. The house is not home without you around." I mumbled before kissing the back of her hand.

"Dare I ask how many laid in my place?" She smirked slightly, her possessive side surfacing. Yet I felt shame as I placed my head on her shoulder, ending the conversation as quickly as it started. "I see." Her voice was a whisper as her fingers ran through my hair. "You're gonna be out of fighting for awhile Dom. You tore your other ACL."

"I don't care right now about that." I mumbled closing my eyes and taking a deep breath. "I just wanna go home with you. Hide away for awhile and just be alone with you."

" That sounds like a brilliant idea. Of course after I disinfect the house." She chuckled before kissing my forehead.

"They didn't mean anything."

"I know babe. Get some rest alright? Hopefully I can convince the doctors to let you out in a few days and we'll go home." She took a sip of her coffee as if to clear her mind for a moment and think. "Maybe we should go away for awhile. Just you and me to some exotic place."

" That sounds perfect. I missed you so much Lana."

"I missed you a lot too. I think more than I expected." She ended it there. Yet I could tell she had a lot more she could say. She'd been back over there. Over to the place that stole so much from her mentally and physically. Yet here she was by my side as if nothing over there mattered. "I worried about you a lot."

"About me? I wasn't in a war zone."

"You were always in a war zone. It was just in your head." She mumbled and sat her coffee on the table before we coiled closer. " Get some rest. I'm not going anywhere. I love you. I mean it."

"I love you too." I whispered before closed my eyes, focusing on her breathing that echoed through my ear pressed against her body. She was home and the purest form. As if where ever she went I was suppose to go or part of me was lost with her absence.
