Lana POV

I was up before Dom thankfully. My body seemed to already be in motion before my brain even caught up. I was headed straight for the letter neatly sealed in a envelope with a red wax stamp. I turned on the coffee maker before sitting down at the breakfast bar and running my finger between the seal and paper. It was handwritten as always, a code of ethics so to speak between us.

Elana,

Ice is the color of vodka. You'll need that for when the time comes. I hope the states are treating you well. It's been too long since we've spoken and I know you're working to get my name cleared... What a task that must be I'm sure. Lindsey says you seem on edge all the time. She tells me a fighter like yourself is taking care of you. I can't wait to meet him someday. You deserve the best my dear friend. Keep in touch.
Love your dear friend~E.S

I wandered outside with the note in hand only after grabbing a lighter. It was quickly swallowed up in smoke as if it never existed, the tiny ashes floating away in the air. In my line of work people like us were always careful. Even if there was no outcome. I sat down and took a deep breath, looking at the lighter in my hand as I heard the sliding glass door move behind me.

"What's got you brooding so early in the morning?"

"My first public appearance as Dominick Cruz's fianceé. Ronda said they're gonna want to ask me all kinds of questions." I groaned lighting a cigarette, a bad habit which was only getting worse. "Which I'll have no answer to more than likely and a Navy Seal will end up looking like a fool." Dom chuckled and sat down, avoiding the cigarette smoke.

"I highly doubt anyone can call you a fool Lana." His eyes followed Dojo who was busy stopping to smell the flowers by the door. "We gotta leave for Las Vegas in four hours so I think we should go pack."

"I'll be in just give me a few minutes." He nodded only after kissing my temple. I took a few more drags before heading inside. My body was buzzing with nicotine at least to fend off some of the nerves. Dom was nearly packed by the time I had wandered upstairs with a cup of coffee in hand.

" So Miss Clark what's it like dating the Dominiator." He smirks, talking in a interview voice as he holds his comb towards me. I couldn't help but burst into laughter before rolling my eyes. I snatched the comb and put it in the bag before grabbing my duffle. It was easy enough for me to pack within a few minutes being in the military and all. Of course I needed a nice outfit for the fight being as I would be standing beside the one and only Dominick Cruz.

My stomach churned as I got ready and then suffered through the limo ride. The flight from San Diego to Las Vegas seemed to go by in a blink of an eye. It felt like I was on autopilot till we got to our hotel and Dominick started changing into his suit. The grey blazer with a green, blue, and grey tie. I was dying for another cigarette yet here I was braiding my hair into an elaborate look to compete with the others attending. My nearly navy silk dress matching the color in his tie. I took a deep breath, chuckling to myself as I walked out of the bathroom and slipped on my louboutins heels that made me Dominick's height. Like always in moments like this it seemed Dom's world stopped, he was tying his tie as his eyes landed on me.

"What? What are you looking at?" I chuckled grabbing my clutch before approaching, taking his hand.

"You look gorgeous. Like a million bucks."

"Only a million? I'm hurt." I feigned shock her and pressed a kiss to my cheek. It was in these moments that I knew I was his greatest weakness. If someone stepped to me wrong I knew Dom's instinct would do anything and everything to protect me from harm. Truth be told I knew he was my greatest weakness too. Yet my anchor all at once. "You don't look too bad yourself there champ." I pulled away only to fix his tie before taking a breath and glancing to the door. "Shall we?"

"Ladies first." He motioned before his arm coiled around my waist as we walked down the hall and to the elevator. The world seemed to go in slow motion as we walked through the lobby and to the awaiting car to take us a mere block to the arena. I could see the cameras flashing as we approached, my fingers coiling around his as the door opened. He got out first before offering his hand and helping me out. People hollered at us as we walked along, taking photos along the way.

"Elena what are you wearing?"

"Elena how do you feel about Dominick fighting?"

"Will you give up your career for him?"

"Where did you two meet?"

"Who wears the pants in the relationship."

"What's next for you two?"

"What now since you're not the champion Dominick?"

"I win it back." Dominick smirked to the guy before we kept walking. All the other questions were left unanswered. I couldn't help but laugh, covering my mouth with my hand as not to burst out into a fit. "I'm fighting Takeya Mizugaki September this year. I'm coming back." Dom opened the door for me, guiding me through the arena. The lights nearly blinded me as we walked towards our seats. For some reason my heart was racing as if I was a child, filled with excitement. Then I looked to him, seeing the excitement in his chocolate hues. It all seemed so clear in this second. This was his war zone. This was fight night.
