-"Where there is anger, there is always pain underneath."-

______________________________

The gala was shut down almost immediately after finding out about Thea. Alexei saw their distress and offered his assistance in any way he could.

Everyone was in a state of shock to do anything. Anger and worry eating away ate away at their insides. Alec and Elena were restless the whole night and only managed to get a few hours of sleep.

Midnight, Ida, and Starr didn't sleep at all. They worked tirelessly all night to find some sort of connection to her kidnapping. As a result, neither did Luca, Matteo, and Antonio.

Midnight sent Luca to the Luxe after reassuring him a few hundred times but that didn't make him get even a wink of sleep without her.

He wished he would've paid more attention. He thought he could've prevented this whole thing if he only kept a closer eye on her. He felt angry that someone would dare touch his baby sister.

They were going to get tortured and suffer for the rest of their miserable lives by his hand.

He would have no mercy on those who hurt his little sister.

His anger was unexplainable and was comparable to when his Diavola got hurt.

He knew the only way he was going to an ounce of rest tonight if Midnight was with him...but she wasn't. He had only slept peacefully if she was with him.

She didn't come to the Luxe at all or didn't even text where she was or if she was okay. Luca was paranoid that something had happened to her too.

His emotions were all over the place as he thought the worst about Thea.

What if she was dead?

A dark pit formed in his maniacal mind. His only sister, his only sibling was probably dead in a cold dark place.

He couldn't even remember the last time he told her that he loved her.

Or what the last thing he said to her.

His thoughts began to drift to a far-off place.

He would never get to threaten her husband.

He would never see her smile again.

He would never hug her again.

It all began to be too much as he broke open a bottle of bourbon. He sat against the cold wall as he got a glass and began to drink.

A few hours later.

She rubbed her temple and dragged a hand down her face, hoping to ease the exhaustion. She was surprised she was tired since she had never craved sleep in her life.

She was drained after pulling an all-nighter when she had slept every night for the past 4 and a half months.

She groggily opened the door, satisfied at the amount of work they had got done and they were on the right track on finding Thea. She walked in and was shocked to see shattered glass beneath her feet.

She looked down and became wide awake as she saw alcohol dripping from the shards. That image alone brought up some unwanted memories.

Flashback

"Come here," he growled. She had just gotten back from school and was hoping he would be up in his room and didn't have to talk to him to avoid another beating.

She saw the beer bottle in his hand and gulped down harshly.

He was drunk...again.

His eyes were squinted and drowsy as he tossed his head to the side, clearly not in the right state of mind.
