CHAPTER 51: MINE

Tobias went to Lucius's room with Benjie right after making sure Blayth was taking Noah's measurements, finding Lucius waiting for him there already. He walked up to him with a measurement tape in his hand, telling him to stand straight with one arm lifted. Tobias held the measurement tape to Lucius's arm, and the moment his hand touched Lucius, the latter flinched away. "Don't move." Tobias said.

"Umm..." Lucius mumbled, closing his fist as he tried to stay still while Tobias measured his arm. "Can I ask you something?" Lucius said, thinking that talking would take his mind off being touched by someone other than Noah.

"Go ahead." Tobias said.

"Do you know what Ren and Blayth are fighting about?" Lucius asked.

"Leon." Tobias said, making Lucius frown, looking at him through the mirror he stood in front of.

"What about Leon?" Lucius asked.

"After you died the last time, the two got into a huge fight, which ended up with Blayth leaving for almost two months." Tobias explained.

"What?" Lucius asked in surprise.

"Yeah. Well I'm not sure about the details, just that Leon blamed him, and then started getting rough. But Blayth left before things escalated. It worked. After some time, Leon couldn't sit still without him, and wanted to go looking for him but Lazarus wouldn't let him. Lazarus being the only one who spoke to him on the phone at the time." Tobias explained, measuring Lucius's shoulders and telling Benjie to write it down. "Noah tricked him into coming back, and they made up. It was as if nothing happened. At least that is what it looked like to all of us."

"18 years ago. Why are they fighting about it now?" Lucius asked.

"Blayth and Leon's relationship is complicated." Tobias said, "You see how Cylus is with Wyatt, how he bosses him around, and Wyatt doesn't mind it. If anything, he likes it. Well those two have their own kind of weird, which is normal to them I guess. But Ren doesn't see it that way."

"Like what?" Lucius asked.

"Well, they push each other's buttons, especially Blayth, to get him mad. Apparently, he likes things rough or something. They are both fine with it, they like it that way. But Ren saw them a week ago, Blayth having hidden Leon's journal and told him that he burned it. Leon got angry and shoved him against the wall but soon they were making out. Ren only saw the roughness, not the teasing. But she got her mind set on them not being right for each other if they hurt one another."

"If it works out for them, then it is not her business." Lucius said, turning around for Tobias to continue, but when they came face to face, he stepped away, making Tobias frown. "So, she is set on what? Breaking them up?"

"Not sure. One thing I know, she doesn't want Blayth to leave again." Tobias told him, about to reach for him again when Lucius took another step back. "Lucius-..."

"One more question, then I'll stay still." Lucius said, making Tobias fold his arms with a raised eyebrow, "Why did Noah pick Blayth to be his witness? He is closer to Leon. Does it have to do with what you just told me?"

"No." Tobias said with a raised eyebrow, "Things between Leon and Noah are fine. But they are brothers, isn't that a good enough reason?"

"Who are brothers?" Lucius asked with a frown.

Tobias parted his lips before he frowned as well, "Didn't they tell you? What the hell, you have been here for about three months now."

"Tell me what?" Lucius asked.
