                                              Kisame can keep a secret. How I know? Well, you didn't find out he was an Akatsuki member right up until his death.
                          Kisame thought if you as too precious to be let in to his dangerous criminal lifestyle. In a way, you were the calm his storm.
                          Don't get him wrong, he loves his job, especially killing high ranking ninjas, he loves a challenge, and he never thought anything could deter him from it. But once he met you, he, slowed down a bit.  He showed a little bit of Mercy on his enemies. 
                          If needed to be killed, they will be killed, but if not, close to it. That or disfigured. Not the ideal Mercy but it's the most Mercy you're going to get out of him.
