The Empress said that Li Jie was already inside of his room, so Min Zhe reluctantly hurried himself to Li Jie's bedroom. Min Zhe furrowed his brows in dubiety as his nimble and quiet steps dragged him back.

The guards who went with him had been sent back, saying that he could manage himself. Min Zhe's aunguished aura felt like he had been to a harsh war that he looked like a widowed soldier.

Min Zhe stood at Li Jie's doorstep, sucked a whole amount of air, and opened the door.

His brother was there, looking okay and fresh. Li Jie was lying down on his bed peacefully, as if he had been to a good paradise. Min She's brows relaxed a little and sighed in relief. However, he looked at his brother suspiciously.

Howbeit Li Jie was sweating badly when he felt that his brother intensely stared at him. He doesn't want to be found out and silently prayed that everything's gonna be well. When Min Zhe walked out of the room, he heaved a sigh and he felt relieved. Li Jie really thought that he would die again, he was scared that Min Zhe could really saw right through him.

He looked at the corner where he his things. Good thing that Min Zhe didn't go near the place or he'll going to be screwed for sure.

"I'm such a fool. I would've been dead if the Empress didn't find me. I should thank him properly next time we meet." Li Jie muttered and closed his eyes, he was really drained out from survival earlier.

Min Zhe was in a daze when he walked through the hallway of the manor. He couldn't help but got suspicious.

He was Li Jie's brother so he knows him very well. What made him lose his memories that it affected his personality too?

Sometimes, he doubted that Li Jie was still him. He before and now were total exact opposites. He didn't believe in superstitions, but why did it seems like it really happened to his brother?

He suspected that he was being possessed by evil apparitions, or else he would not act like out of his character.

But, sadly he was like that. He squeezed his palms as he thought deeply until he heard his brother Jin's voice. Jin Ping was sitting in the balcony outside his room and Min Zhe happened to pass by.

"What made you so problematic in the middle of the night?" Jin Ping said, his voice icy cold as well as his face.

"Brother, do you think Li Jie's totally changed?" Min Zhe said as he sat beside him.

"What made you think that?"  He asked, still stoic.

"I don't know, I feel like he's a different person." Min Zhe uttered absentmindedly. Jin Ping raised one of his brows and looked up to the open sky. Indeed, he felt like Li Jie was a different person. But, he was Li Jie. Although he changed, only his cheerfulness was different and the rest were all the same. But, it was merely because he doesn't believe in superstitions.

"Li Jie is him, what's there to point out? He's changed a little, but he is who he is." Jin Ping said. If Li Jie heard this, he might be shrouded with guilt all over his head thinking that the original soul died while being drugged.

"If you say so." Min Zhe forced himself to believe what his brother said and sighed. He hoped that his assumptions were wrong.

In the Liu manor, it was gloomy as always. After Li Jie disabled Liu's daughter, Liu Ming was cloaked with anger and abomination. He couldn't help but to tear Li Jie's head inside his imagination. At the same time, he was angry by a certain person who tricked him. He couldn't forgive Chen Guang for tricking him to cause ruckus in the border.

"Why are you all useless?! You couldn't even handle a single mission and you dare to say I'll not worry?! What happened to those riches?! Where did it go? And now, the envoy of Hua country was angry for not obeying their orders! What do you think I'll do?!" Liu Ming shrieked and smashed the teacup he held on the ground.

"Forgive us Master, but we didn't know that we would end up in this situation!" The servant kowtowed and begged for mercy. Liu Ming beat them up until he was satisfied.

"You useless fools! If not for your negligence, our plan would've succeeded!" He shouted angrily. He looked at his quiet servants and his anger rose rapidly.

Author: is it because of you that you got tricked? ┐( ̄ヮ ̄)┌

"All of you, get out or I might dirty my hands!" The servants then bowed and dispersed.

"Curse you all!" He shouted as if he had been clouded with wrath. Liu Ming thought of his disabled child and crying wife. His eyes darkened and clenched his fist.

"I'll kill you all. Just you wait." He vexed and slumped on his chair.

"Hah!" 'Fengs, I'll kill you all!'

"But master..."

"What again?!" Minister Liu was enraged even further when the servant talked him back. The servant stifled his emotions and shrank his head. He then said slowly, "I...got a plan." The servant mustered out his thoughts and blurted it out quickly, "What if we spread rumors in the Xianyang instead and tell the citizens that the Fengs were secretly transacting riches through the Hua country and let them be fugitives? I'm sure, His Majesty might be delighted if you catch the fugitive in your hands."

Liu Ming beamed and looked down on the kowtowing servant. Liu Ming's lips rose and said, "Good idea. Then, I let you handle it."

"Rest assured Master, this servant will fulfill its wishes!" He then bowed and went back.

Liu Ming glared at empty desk and frowned. He still didn't get the jade pendant and the map of the location was stolen. He suffered great loss but thinking what the servant suggested, he snickered and laughed like a villain.

"Are you sure we're going to do this?" Lim Hao stared at Delun as if he bore a grudge although he really did.

Delun nodded slightly and said, "Liu Ming was dumb, or dumber than dumb. It feels like you're opponent was a kindergarten kid lost in the woods. Liu Ming didn't check his surroundings, even inside his house so it's easy to infiltrate his house in no time."

Lim Hao grumbled and looked at the Emperor as if he was begging to hold his thighs. But the Emperor turned a blind eye on him and sipped his tea. Haoxuan also rubbed his husband's temple to ease the stress he carried everyday.

Wang Yong sighed with gleefulness, having a good wife was the best in the world.

Delun also wanted to go home to spend time with his wife, but due to the business he had to endure painfully. Delun moved on a long time ago, and now he only see Haoxuan and Yong as an eyesore. He wanted to do lovey dove with his wife too, why can't he just bring Li Jie to the palace?

'I'll kidnap him tomorrow.' Delun thought and nodded hysterically. The two suspected that their General had a problem in the head.

"Oh by the way, I had some juicy news. I heard that Liu Ming's daughter got disabled, Liu Ming got crazy overnight. The rumors said that she lost her tongue by a crazy assassin who appeared on her room. I tell you, that assassin's boss may have deep grudge towards Liu Ming!" Lim Hao said with amusement when Haoxuan shook his head.

If the they knew that the assassin was that innocent-faced wife of the General, Delun might go crazy.

Haoxuan chuckled and intended to watch the show amusingly.
