"Where are you we have been waiting here for a day"

Suzue stared at the mirror that popped out again in front of her.

They were supposed to be using the road to go toward their destination but they found out that the road were blocked.

No people were allowed to go their because of the monsters that suddenly appeared near it.

so they have no choice but to use the other way. which means they need to use a ship.

"We are taking our vacation" Suzue teasingly said and smiled at lucas who's staring at her with a 'are you kidding me' expression.

"Chill, don't you know how to chill?. you'll die early i tell you"

"You die early! your whole family !" suzue just snickered.

then she decided to turn the mirror towards the ocean causing lucas to grunt in confusion.

"why are you ?"

"The road was blocked. it was found out that monsters lived nearby and might ambush the travelers."

"Huh?, what? you suddenly become a coward?"

suzue made the mirror face her again. this time she's wearing a disbelief expression in her face.

"Excuse me?, i... am not a coward."

She can't believe that the man inside the mirror would put her and the word coward in the same sentence.

that just an insult.

"tsk, whatever. Traveling using the ship is much convenient anyway- what's with that smile? were you planning something again?!, i tell you Suzue, waiting is a pain in the ass!"

Suzue couldn't believe that the man will easily read her that fast.

they only been together for a few days and those days were just them talking about the deicide case but the man can now easily read her.

"Why do i feel that you don't trust me?"

"You are seriously asking me that?"

suzue just snicker. well it's true, suzue is the last person you should trust especially if you are not a valuable object or a promising tool.

"Anyway i guess i should tell you to not anger you mom"

lucas seems to be used to the other's teasing so his reaction was just simply roll his eyes.

lucas seems to realize what she was saying and stood up and walk to a isolated area.

Then they are starting to become extinct just like the vampires. i heard the merfolk that were left behind were now in the brothels serving men.

"What?" he looks so surprise after hearing that mermaids were not locked up inside the lord's mansion.

"before coming to the mansion. i met a woman that has a blood of a merfolk. the lord's most favored son likes the lady and decided to duel me and end up losing. he gave me a compensation for the trouble he cause.

i went to the mansion the next day and made the shadows investigate the mansion, even the half blood mermaid went to the underground to see.

It's true... Suzue really did investigate the mansion but found no traces of merfolk.

Lucas fell into silence and seems thinking.

"how did it happened?, where those just simply rumors?"

suzue think not. If the rumor's said that the merfolk were locked inside the mansion then it is.

i mean who would have a guts to spread a rumor about the lord especially if that rumor is false and might strike a negative impact towards the noble.

That's just like courting death.

Suzue is certain that the rumors are not just simply a rumor. It's a way to misdirect everyone.

"The rumors are real. the mermaids are indeed lock in the lord's mansion"

lucas stared at the woman in confusion.

"But you said they are no traces of merfolk inside the mansion?"

"yeah. the rumors are not talking literally. the merfolk aren't held captive inside the mansion but to one of the people living in the mansion"

Doing something as insane like holding the merfolk in captive isn't a wise way to do especially if you are just lord and the people you are holding captive has a king of their own"

"Yeah that makes sense. i even forgot that they have a king"

Suzue didn't said any insulting words towards the man. becasue she too forgot that the merfolk has their own king.

A king that suddenly disappeared.

"Anyway how did you found out that the merfolk has their own king anyway"

this time, suzue didn't hesitate to show the man a disbelief expression match with a 'are you stupid?'

"Well, if the goblins has a goblin king. The humans has a kind.. then merfolk should have one too right?. are you even using your own brain?"

"Well i'm sorry for not being as intelligent and competent as you!"

"fuckin-" he mumbled curses causing suzue to snicker.

the ship suddenly jolted to stop causing suzue to almost fell in the sea. luckily she manage to find her balance and stared in shock at nowhere.

"What the hell is that?!" one of the passenger shouted and the others who feel down were glaring at the direction of the captain who is also startled.

"My apologies"

Suzue ignored the commotion and stared at ethan who walk towards her while rubbing his head.

he probably bump on the wall.

"Where's jasmine? noah?"

suzue asked after the boy reach her.

"room. what was that? why did we stop?"

suzue didn't answer and just pink up the kid and observe the ocean.

"What's happening in there Suzue" she heard a concern voice.

She stared at the mirror and saw hadley looking at her worriedly and cautiously.

"it's nothing" she simply answered and stared at the sky that is starting to turn dark.

her eyes narrowed and she frown.

"jasmine!, Noah! come here!" she called the woman over when she saw her peaking at the window.

Jasmine saw the serious face of suzue. The laziness and sleepiness that always in her face can't be seen so she immediately went out the room with noah and jog over suzue.

"what's wrong?" she worriedly asked.

but instead of suzue answering, something bump in the ship causing the ship to jerk.

"Stay close to me"
