FELIX'S MOUTH WAS WIDE open, and Payton instantly takes out his inhaler again and uses it. As the Omega Society's club room falls silent, Max walks towards the two and tells them, "Let me join this club, and I'll help you gather the recruits that you need."

Felix couldn't quite grasp it. The infamous Maximilian Leigh Sinclaire, mopping the floors, wiping blood, and even picking up trash for brotherhoods. It was something that would definitely become the talk of the town, even outside J.S High.

"No!" Payton instantly opposes. "I will not let a troublemaker like you cause trouble in our club. What if Jokers suddenly ambushes us? Or even worse, give each of us a jack in—"

"Your club will fall. It does not have an advisor or enough members to keep it standing. If you guys want to look for another club like what your old club members did then be my guest. But currently, I'm your best bet."

"B-But why?" Felix asks. "Why all of a sudden? What are you even planning again Max?"

Max doesn't answer in an instant and remembers the smug look on Dustin's face when he looked at him earlier. It's actually a shallow reason, but there's something about that Elite that irked him, and this desire to prove him wrong suddenly became strong.

"He calls us janitors, then let's fucking be the best janitors in this house," Max suddenly says, and Felix scratches the back of his head and mumbles, "You called us janitors earlier too. What a hypocrite."

Payton continues to use his inhaler. But after breathing normally, he looks at Max with a more serious expression and says, "Since I'm the one with the highest year and rank here then I automatically become the club leader. I have the right to decide on whether or not we should recruit you."

"That's where you're mistaken. Club leaders have the power to lead, and not decide on such an important thing. I have memorized the White Uniform Handbook and no rule says otherwise. If there is, the advisor would have the go signal. But as you can see..." Max pauses and moves closer to Payton, "There is no advisor."

Payton looks straight into Max's eyes, and for a moment, Max saw an intelligent scholar and not the easily-frightened boy he portrays himself to be.

"Fine, you win this round. But first, do you know how to clean, Mr. Sinclaire? Do you even know how to hold a broom? Even though we're only the Omega Society, we still have standards," Payton asks mockingly.

Max doesn't answer instantly, but instead, he heads towards the cleaning supplies and grabs a mop and a broom. He then looks back at Payton and Felix and asks them, "Okay, where should I clean?"

Payton was surprised by the response. He looks at Felix, and Felix just shrugs his shoulders, not sure about what Max is planning either. But since Max already started this nonsense, then there's no point in ignoring it now.

"Alright, here's the thing. Help us promote the club on Friday. And if you're able to recruit enough members to save us, then we'll welcome you here with open arms."

...

"I don't know why he's so strict. It's not like your club is so great," Max comments, instantly making Felix, who's walking beside him down the stairs, glare at him. Max chuckles at the reaction, but afterward, he looks at his friend and says, "But in all seriousness, your club is the noblest one out there. It takes a lot of character to be able to do what you do. That is why I want to prove to that Dustin guy that there is nothing to be ashamed of when your work is righteous."
