Leah's POV

I woke up and saw the clock. 11:56 pm. I yawned softly.

I looked down to see we were covered in the sofa throw,  and the tv was now off.

I shook off my thoughts, probably one of the kids woke up and did this.

I had to get them to bed. They usually have a whole routine to do before bed but today can have an exception.

I gently moved Andrea and Gabriel's heads off my lap.

I carefully stood up while supporting Bella's head since she was leaning on me.

I gently put Bella's head down on the sofa.

I first took Bella, she was the easiest. Then I later went down for Andrea and Gabriel and carried them to their rooms.

I went back downstairs to fix the couch. I took the throw and stretched it out to fold it.

"You're awake" I heard. The voice was too familiar, I looked up and saw Luca.

My heart skipped, I hadn't seen him in so long it felt almost like a dream.

"You're back?" I said my voice above a whisper.

"Yeah, you guys were sleeping so I left you and just switched off the tv" he scratched the back of his neck.

So that explains it. It was Luca. My heart couldn't stop racing, I guess I missed him more than I thought.

"Thanks, I guess" I offered a small smile.

He nodded, "How are you?" he asked looking straight at me.

"Me? I'm fine" I shrugged and started arranging the pillows.

"Good to know, and by the way your friend called," he said.

"Which one?" my head shot up. "Uh...I don't know, I think... Crazy one no. 1" he shrugged walking towards the kitchen.

"Oh, Sydney," I said, then came the realisation "Wait! You answered?" I asked my eyes widened.

He took a sip of the water he poured for himself, "Yes."

I sighed in defeat, "I'm dead" I groaned.

"What did you say?" he asked putting the water jar back in the fridge and turning to me.

"Nothing" I replied quickly, I smiled innocently.

"Anyway, how was World War 3?" I change the subject.

"It went well, took longer than we thought but it was with the wait" he shrugged.

"So you have no more enemies?" I asked.

He chuckled "I really wish, but that's not how it works Leah."

"How does it work? Isn't that the point of the whole war?" I asked nothing was making sense.

"What happens now won't stop them from another one, wars like this create temporary relief" he explained.

"Well that sounds tough and quite alarming especially since you don't know when they might strike again" I sat down.

"Yeah, but anyway. How were things here?" he sat on the other sofa.

I explained everything. Besides the fact that I missed him, obviously.
