********the next day********

Leah's POV

I woke up.

Today is FREAKING cold. What did I do to the weather to deserve this punishment?

I'm typically rolled like a spring roll I'm in my bedsheets.

I literally wanted to kill my shitty alarm but my hands are too warm in my blanket to do that.

I literally hate the weather. It has mood swings even worse than a teenage girl on her period.

After about 20 more minutes of procrastination, I finally got the courage to sit up and leave my bed.

I went to open my curtains.

"Oh shit" I cursed under my breath.

"Snow season" I shook my head. I love Snow because it's so damn pretty, but I hate it because it's cold as hell.

Cold as hell?

Oh sorry

Correction. As Cold as Sydney when she rejects men.

Okay, she's very scary when that happens

Exactly why I said it.

I sighed as I walked to my closet and grabbed some warm clothes before going into the bathroom.

Well, Angel isn't going to get better any time soon with this weather.

After a warm shower I got some warm clothes out of my closet.

In this cold my brain isn't functioning for fashion sense, so I just took some matching grey sweat shirt and pants.

If you want to know, I probably have a sweat shirt in every colour possible.

The cold seeped into my bones as I left my room.

Today was one of those bone-chilling mornings that made the idea of getting out from under the covers terribly unpleasing.

But, there were responsibilities to attend to.

I braved the frosty air, my breath forming a visible cloud as I shuffled towards the kids' rooms.

The house was eerily quiet in the early hours, the muffled sounds of the heating system barely penetrating the thick, cold air.

Entering each room, I gently roused the kids from their slumber.

Bella, Andrea, and Gabriel groaned, their sleepy eyes struggling to open as they reluctantly greeted the day.

Little Angel, snuggled in her bed, just blinked up at me with her bright, innocent eyes.

"Come on, little snowflakes," I coaxed them with a warm smile. "Time to get ready for school."

Their protests were muffled by yawns as they begrudgingly got out of their cozy beds.

I helped them dress in layers to combat the bitter cold outside, we made our way to the kitchen for breakfast.

With the kids off to school and the morning rush subsided, I decided to take a break from my chores and venture upstairs to Luca's study.

It was a place I'd grown more familiar with over the past months here.

I hummed as I climbed the staircase, footsteps echoing softly in the grand hallway.

The door to Luca's study stood ajar, invitingly, so I gently pushed it open and stepped inside.
