When you love a best friend, it's unconditional.

But when you lose a best friend, it's unbearable.

Leah's POV

I woke up to the soft golden hue across the room.

The events of the previous night flooded back into my consciousness, tugging at my thoughts with terrible intensity.

Sydney's well-being weighed heavily on my mind, knitting a thread of anxiousness into the fabric of today.

With a heavy sigh, I sat up, my mind immediately racing through the possibilities of what might have transpired since last night.

The silence in the room was palpable, broken only by the soft rustling of sheets as I shifted, my gaze fixed on the window, lost in thought.

My phone lay on the bedside table, the screen illuminating with a soft glow as I reached for it, a flicker of hope stirring within me as I prayed for a message or an update.

But the screen remained empty.

I sighed in frustration as I stared at the device, my thoughts consumed by worry, I heard the rustling of sheets behind me.

"Don't worry too much, Leah," Luca murmured, his voice still husky from waking up.

"I'm sure Andrew and his team are doing everything they can to find her."

I turned to face him, a faint smile tugging at the corners of my lips as I took in the sincerity etched into his features.

"I know," I replied, my voice soft yet tinged with concern.

"It's just hard not to worry, she's my best friend."

Luca reached out, his hand finding mine, his touch a grounding force that anchored me in the moment.

"I understand," he said, his gaze unwavering. "But you've done what you could, just try to stay calm."

His words resonated within me, a soothing balm that eased the uneasiness swirling in my mind.

I leaned back into him, seeking relief in his company.

"Thank you," I whispered, gratitude seeping into my tone as I held onto his hand as he gently played with my hair.

Andrew's POV

I barely slept—actually...I Didn't Sleep At All.

If Antonio has her, then where would he be?
