Luca's POV

Leah settled onto the bed, the soft lamplight casting a warm glow across her features.

"Today was something else, huh?" I murmured, my voice barely above a whisper as I crossed the room to sit beside her.

Leah leaned back against the pillows, a small smile gracing her lips.

"It definitely had its moments."

I reached out to tuck a loose strand of hair behind her ear, my fingertips grazing her skin gently.

"You have a way of making even the most chaotic days seem bearable," I admitted, my eyes never leaving hers.

A soft chuckle escaped her, and she reached out to intertwine her fingers with mine.

"Well, you're not too bad yourself, Mr. Romano," she teased, her gaze filled with warmth and affection.

I leaned in closer, "I have to admit, I think I've gotten used to having you around," I confessed, the sincerity in my voice bearing the depth of my feelings.

Leah's expression softened, her eyes reflecting the emotions swirling within her.

"I've gotten used to being here, too," she chuckled, her voice holding tenderness.

The sudden ring of my phone shattered the tranquillity of the moment, jolting us both back to reality.

I let out a quiet sigh, reaching for the device on the nightstand, my brows furrowing as I recognized the caller ID.

Andrew? I looked at the clock. 10:23 pm.

Leah's hand remained clasped in mine, her thumb tracing soothing circles over my palm.

"It's okay. Go ahead, take the call," she encouraged, her understanding gaze grounding me amid the sudden interruption.

I pressed the phone to my ear, bracing myself for whatever news or urgent matter awaited. "Andrew?" I answered.
