Leah's POV

The next day dawned with a sense of anticipation that swirled within me like a whirlwind.

As I went about my morning routine, preparing breakfast for the kids and Luca, my thoughts kept returning to one pressing question that had been gnawing at me: When could we tell the kids about our relationship?

It felt unfair to keep them in the dark.

I like the dark

That's you, not them.

Sheesh, calm down

As Luca sat down at the kitchen island, sipping his coffee and engrossed on his phone, I finally mustered the courage to broach the topic.

"Zach," I began tentatively, "we need to talk about something."

He looked up from his phone, his deep blue eyes meeting mine. "Of course, what's going on?"

I took a deep breath, steeling myself for the conversation ahead.

"It's about the kids, about our relationship."

Luca nodded, his expression attentive.

"I figured this conversation would come up sooner or later."

I pressed on, my determination growing.

"It's not fair to keep them in the dark, Luca. They deserve to know the truth. We owe it to them."

He set down his coffee cup, his gaze never leaving mine.

"I understand where you're coming from, Leah. But you know the situation is complicated."

I nodded, acknowledging the complexities of our lives.

"I do, but we can't keep pretending in front of the people who are in this house forever. They look up to you, and they care about you. They deserve to know the real nature of our relationship."

Luca leaned forward, his expression serious yet contemplative.

"I agree, and I've been thinking about this too. Leah, it's completely your choice when to tell them."

I felt a surge of relief that Luca was on the same page.

"Thank you, Luca" I paused "What about today?" I asked.

He offered me a warm smile, reaching across the island to place his hand over mine.

"Okay, I see no problem with that. We'll do it together."

I couldn't help but smile back, grateful that Luca understood the importance of this step.

The day passed in its usual whirlwind of school runs, homework, and playtime.

As the evening settled in, I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and anxiety about the coming conversation with the kids.
