Soda was standing in your door frame, his movie star smile MIA and his hands fiddling in his jean pockets with lint (something he did when he was nervous).

"Hey, honey," You cooed, standing from your bed and wrapping your arms around his neck swiftly.

"H-hi, baby," He stuttered and his lip quivered.

"Honey, what's wrong?" You pondered, stepping back for a moment.

His lip began quivering madly and you knew he wouldn't be able to tell you without breaking down, but you were scared. Was he breaking up with you? Was he about to tell you he cheated or maybe he was moving?

"Honey," you started, your curiosity growing stronger and stronger.

"I w-w-was dr-rafted," He whispered, tears sliding down his cheeks furiously.

You stepped back for a moment, trying to figure out what that all meant. Of course you knew what it meant to be drafted, but you never imagined your movie-star boyfriend being in the middle of it. You never thought that you'd go through the heart ache and pain of waiting. What would you do if something bad happened to him?

"Say something, please," He begged, his green eyes bleeding into yours.

"Oh Soda," You shivered, bringing him into a hug.

He cried harshly into the crook of your neck and you tried to hold back the tears that were pounding to be let out, but soon enough you started sliding to the floor, grasping Soda's shirt and tears streaming furiously. He scooped you into his arms, rubbing your back gently and whispering into your ear.

"s-ssshhh baby. It'll be okay, I'll keep fighting for you. I'll b-b-be back in no time," He tried comforting but soon enough he was crying too and you two were a mess on your bedroom carpet.

"When do you have to go?" you whimpered into his ear.

"Friday." It was Wednesday night.

"S-stay?" He nodded and you two crawled into your bed.

You wrapped your arms around his waist and laid your head on his chest while his straddled your shoulders and absentmindedly toyed with your hair. He did that when he was bored or nervous. He did it the first time you two cuddled, and when you started to get up it scared him and he tugged harshly on your hair, jumping up. He apologized for hours but all you could do was laugh. The memory seemed sadder now.

When you woke up that morning Soda was already awake and downstairs. You stumbled over to him and he quickly wrapped his arms around your waist from behind.

"I've never seen anyone so beautiful at 7 in the morning," He charmed and you giggled slightly.

You two spent the whole night cuddling on the couch and watching movies until it was 9 at night. He said he had to go home to pack and talk to Darry, but he begged you to see him in the morning. You only nodded. You didn't sleep that night, only tossed and turned, tears threatening to fall again.

Both of your knees were on either side of his hips and you dipped down and kissed him passionately. He kissed back tiredly, his eyes peeling open.

"Good morning, Pepsi-Cola," you whispered.

"Good morning, princess," he whispered back and you two walked downstairs.

He had an hour to get ready and say goodbye before he had to leave. Darry was also drafted and Ponyboy was a mess of tears and not showering. There stood two of the three Curtis boys in the living room. Both with a large bag on their shoulders, trying not to look weak, but they were only kids.

Only kids who hadn't turned to men quite yet. Maybe Darry did, you thought, but shook it off quickly, remembering all the days he joked around with Soda. Then the hour was up.

You got your final hug from Darry and he made you promise to look after Pony, stay out of trouble, and not to mope around all the time. You made him promise not to go get himself hurt and try to protect Soda as much as he could without putting himself in harm. You both nodded at each other's requests and hugged once again.

Then Soda strolled over, his head hung and his cheeks flushed. He was truly a sight for sore eyes. You jumped into his arms, cherishing his strong arms around you. Then he kissed more passionately than he ever had before.

"I'll be back before you know." The truck pulled to the curb and Darry stepped out the door, tears pounding down your face now, but Soda's calloused thumb rubbed them away. "I love you, princess," He whispered.

"I love you too, Pepsi-Cola," you whimpered, watching him walk out the door.
