Chapter 21

"Bhaiya"

She rushed to her brother and he engulfed her in his warm hug. She broke the hug and looked properly at him.

"What are you doing here bhaiya"- she asked him looking puzzled at his sudden arrival.

"Why are you asking this question?? Can't I come here to meet my baby sister"- He answered her smiling.

"yes, you can".

"Pack your stuffs . We are going"-he said to her.

"We are going but where??"- she was stunned by his order.

"We are going to Mama Ji(Mother's brother) Home in Lucknow.  There is some small family function in his house.  As there is still time left for your exams to start, Maa wanted you  to come with us. All our family were badly missing you and wished to see you. We can have a small family get together"- he explained her giving the full details.

"They will directly reach there in Lucknow  and I have come to pick you up"- he continued speaking.

"Oh , ......so the family function is in mama ji home . It means kavya di will also be present there"- she said to him. Kavya was the daughter of her mama ji family friend. She used to regularly visit them and that's how the Malhotra family get acquainted with her.

Her brother eyes went wide at the mention of kavya. She noticed how her brother eyes were gleaming with joy upon hearing kavya name. He really was excited to meet her. (Arpit and Kavya are not married at this point of time.)

"You have become too naughty  Akansha by staying alone in this hostel"-  He lightly reprimanded his sister but she wasn't  going to leave him alone.

"Don't worry Bhaiya. We will not tease you in front of kavya di"- she said to her brother making puppy eyes.

"Okay. Now stop your silly talks and get ready. Our flight is in two hours"- her brother ordered her and she  nodded her head.

All the elders of the house were discussing  family matters and the cousins gang  were gossiping with each other after the pooja rituals. A small girl tugged the tip of Akansha duppatta.

"Are you Akansha didi"- the little girl asked her.

"Yes, I am. what happened??"- she replied.

The little girl signalled her fingers to a group of ladies  in which Akansha mother was also sitting and said "those aunties are calling you over there".

She thanked the little girl and went over to meet them.  She touched the feet of everyone present there and took blessings.

"So,  Janki (Akansha mother name), is this your daughter who studies in dehradoon??"- one of the ladies asked her mother.

"Yes , She is the one"- her mother replied.

"You are very beautiful  Akansha !!!  what are you students currently??- another lady asked her.

"Thanks for complement aunty!! I am currently doing bachelor's in interior designing"-  akansha replied to her.

"Your daughter will get many marriage proposals , Janki owing to her beauty. Choose wisely her future partner"- the first lady said smiling.

Akansha got  uncomfortable hearing the "marriage"  word and  sweats started to form on her face even in full air conditioned environments.

"Yeah , we will think about her marriage after her graduation completes. Her elder brother  Arpit is still unmarried . First we have to think about him"- her mother replied.
