Ever since I got shot my mother doesn't let me out the house at all..it's depressing but I kinda don't mind because I don't wanna see anyone Dougie associates with, it's hard because they all live near me. I got discharged from the hospital a little less then a week ago. I been good, been on bed rest ever since even though I been telling my mother I'm good and I could walk.

It's like sometimes I could just read my mother's mind. I know she regrets letting me even be close to any of gang affiliated people, and that it was only a matter of time I would get hurt. Even if that met not meeting Kay and his mother she would go through with it as long as I was safe.

The only people I've seen since everything other than Dthang and Jatavia has been Setty. He checked up on me of course, even offered to bring me food. It's crazy cause he canceled his whole Miami birthday trip just to kick it with me. From everyone else it just been crickets, Dougie didn't apologize to me, no nothing. That was all I needed to know to know that I was at the wrong place at the time with the wrong person.

Even if he did have something to do with me getting shot, I couldn't control my loved ones actions afterwards. My mother and Dthang were so convinced he did.

"Ma what you making?" I semi-yelled, smelling the fumes of something being cooked in the back.

"Just frying some fish." She calmly said.

A knock on the door set me back to reality as I looked around my house realizing my mother was too busy to get it, I don't even think she heard it. I got up and untwisted the cold door knob revealing Bando holding a bouquet of roses.

I couldn't help but start cheesing. This was the most random thing that I wouldn't expect to happen.

"So you not gon take these flowers?" He said shyly. His face was turning red and I couldn't help but remember how shy this boy use to be."

"Thank you. These are so nice." I said taking the bouquet from him. There royal blue roses so I knew it had to cost him a cute dime.

"Hi." He said innocently as he waved to my mother.

"Hi honey." She said giving him a small smile. She looked at the flowers in my hand and smirked at me. I knew she had to recognize him from Dthang, the two were literally always together. I'm just glad she didn't have a problem with it.

Brooklyn nosey self peeked her head out of her room and cheesed when she saw who it was. "Hi Bando."

"Wassgood muddy."

"How do you just be coming up here without being noticed? You and Dthang." I chuckled to myself.

"You be forgetting who I am." He laughed. I closed the door behind us as he sat down. His cocky self.

It's actually been a minute since I seen him. I'm shocked he even came. The most contact we had was when he checked up on me when he first heard I got shot. I guess he put his pride aside, but who wouldn't? I almost died.

"You hungry? You want me to fix you up a plate?" My mother asked. "Food should be done in a few
minutes."

"Say that." He mumbled which made me laugh. My mother made her way back to the kitchen.

"Don't speak my mother like she one of your homeboys." I laughed making a grin form on his face.

"My fault. But How you been holding up?"

"Better to be honest. Might be able to go back to school in 2 weeks. Not ready for that though. I know people gon talk." I shrugged.

I hardly speak to anyone in school as it is, and people already spoke on me because of the people I was around outside of school. Usually I wouldn't care but I just feel different types of hurt because of the shooting situation I know I'm bound to spaz out.

"I know the last time we spoke shit got out of hand but I just wanna let you know I care about you. Not even on no relationship type shit." Bando randomly said. I guess he was studying my face as I was thinking off to myself.

"Awww." I smiled. "Thank you. It's really no hard feelings between us."

"Glad. I really ain't know how to act when we stopped speaking." He laughed. "You cool people. Forreal."

"Thank you." I said awkwardly. I swear I never knew how to act when it came to compliments. "Why you didn't come with Dthang?"

"He was in the studio. I didn't feel like recording or staying in the crib. Plus I been wanted to check up on you."

"So what stopped you?"

"I either had something going on at the time or I was just nervous."

"You pussy." I joked, poking his sides as he looked away from me and smirked. "I don't bite. I can barely walk on my two feet."

"You deadass?" He said looking at my crutches on the side of the couch.

"Nah I'm playing. I could walk just hurt to be on my feet for too long." I said.

It went silent between the two of us for a while. We watched the the commercials go by on the television.

"My mother wanna press charges against Dougie. But we can't really do that when we don't know what happened. Daniel and her think he set me up. But I don't know." I blurted out.

"What you mean you don't know?" He asked. We locked eyes with each other for a bit before I bit on my bottom lip and spoke.

"I don't know what to believe."

"I don't think Dougie meant for you to get hurt, but he know somebody that know something about what went down that night."

"Why you say that?"

"Ion know too much about y'all. But that nigga loved you." He looked down and back up at me. "Plus you don't even be doing anything to anybody. Who would wanna hurt you?"

"Same question I ask myself everyday."
