I don't know if these stories are canonly connected since the author for Lost Silver is anonymous. Despite not being able to tell if they're canonly connected, I do like the idea of it, so I'm going to pretend they are. I'm going to write this chapter the same way I did with the Russian Sleep Experiment, Candle Cove and Lavender Town. Though the stories do discuss individuals, I'd rather cover them in summary format to save time.

In Strangled Red, someone finds a cartridge in the trash and takes it. Surprise surprise, the game is hacked. Throughout the story we find that the main character in the game is called Steven. He has a Charmander named Miki that quickly evolves to Charmeleon and then Charizard. Miki is very dear to Steven, but one day Steven's brother asks for Steven to trade Miki to him temporarily. He wants Miki so he can complete his Pokédex. (For people who don't play Pokémon, a Pokédex is basically a compendium of all the Pokémon.) Steven is reluctant but allows it, trading Miki over. Something happens during the trade that kills Miki and Steven is understandably devastated. He goes mad and decides to try and resurrect Miki using MissingNo. MissingNo is a glitch Pokémon that is supposed to be pretty easy to encounter if you know how to perform the glitch. Anyway, Miki comes back as a monstrosity. With Miki, Steven goes back to Pallet Town and strangles his brother. The story ends right about here.

In Lost Silver, it starts basically the same as every other videogame creepypasta. The main character finds a cheap game and plays it. The game turns out to be hacked, what a shocker. Main character starts up the game and finds that he has five Unowns and a badly injured Cyndaquil. The Cyndaquil is named HURRY and the Unown spell out LEAVE. Later on as the player explores, Cyndaquil faints. The player checks his inventory and sees six Unowns that spell out HEDIED. The story progresses and in the end we find that the character the protagonist is playing as dies. The character had done basically everything there was to do in order to become a Pokémon master, but he still died in relative obscurity as if his accomplishments had never happened. Lost Silver is not called Lost Silver in the story, by the way. He's called Gold, ironically. Over time, his sprite becomes more and more dead looking until he eventually dies.

Next, the story that connects the two. The person playing the game is forced into battle with Steven, who by this point, has already resurrected Miki and gone insane. Usually the player loses unless they do things in the correct order, which is basically impossible to know without at least hundreds of different attempts. If you win, Steven leaves behind an item that will make your Pokémon basically invincible. There is a catch though, it turns them into the same abomination as Miki. If you lose, you descend a rope into a room you've never seen before. When you check your inventory, all you'll have is five Unowns and a Cyndaquil with one HP. So basically, if you lose to Strangled Red/Steven, you begin the journey that the person who purchased the cartridge containing Lost Silver went on.

Boom, stories over. I don't have theories to discuss because there really isn't anything to theorize on. Not to mention, there isn't actually anything overtly supernatural about either story. They're just hacked games. Bye!

Yeah for this I got nothin', can't even grasp or reach either lol. Cool story though! The Pokémon kind of Creepypastas will always have a place in my heart. :) - Brinlee
