Know Me If You Can - A Taekook Love Story

50 - Much Deserved Reprimanding.

Taehyung was speaking to the team of Special Investigation Division -  Organised Crime, under Criminal Affairs Bureau. Their latest target had been a drug cartel and their leader, and Taehyung and his team had been working for months on that.

The man they captured today, Lee Yoonho, was the man they needed to bring down the boss. He was the one who handled the boss's legitimate businesses and the one who converted all the black money into white money.

The boss had him very protected, that's why they needed Jungkook to go in as bait. They had hoped to capture Yoonho outside the club due to the danger of the situation but since they had to track him all the way back to his home, the police managed to get much more information and evidence.

"So-" Taehyung concluded the meeting after giving a run down on the situation. "-Yoonho will be questioned by me and Hoseok but the bastard had already requested for a lawyer."

"Will the evidence hold?" Namjoon asked and Taehyung gave a confident nod.

"It definitely will. We have more than enough to charge him with and hopefully, that'll be enough to give up the boss."

Namjoon got up from his seat and pat Taehyung's back with a proud smile. "Well done, Tae."

He then looked around at the team. "You guys all did good. I'm proud of you."

Namjoon started to clap and everyone joined too. After that, the meeting was finished and everyone went out of the room.

"Jungkook, stay back. I wanna have a word with you."

Jungkook frowned but didn't say anything as he sat back down on his chair. He had been expecting this actually but getting scolded from Kim Namjoon is never a present experience. The man had a way of making you feel really ashamed of your own wrongdoings.

To his surprise, both Jin and Taehyung stayed back too. Jimin and Hoseok looked like they wanted to stay too but after looking at Namjoon's face, they thought it was better to get out.

Namjoon waited till everyone was out and the door closed and gave a displeased look to Jin and Taehyung.

"You guys can go. I'm not gonna scold him too much." Namjoon said in a frustrated voice making Taehyung huffed loudly at that while Jin rolled his eyes.

"That's exactly why we are waiting." Jin explained while Taehyung nodded his head in agreement. "So that you will scold him for at least half the amount he deserves."

"Right. Okay." Namjoon scratched the back of his head a bit and looked at the youngest of them.

Jungkook was looking at the floor and not meeting Namjoon's eyes. He had a great respect for their Chief and could never bear to see the disappointed look that he knew Namjoon must be having now.

"Jungkook." Namjoon called and Jungkook immediately looked up at him. It was rude to ignore.

"I hope you understand that gravity and the danger of what you did. You had specific instructions as to what your part was and your team expected you to follow that. In our line of work, surprises or sudden change of plans are very dangerous. You made yourself get to an extremely vulnerable position, and you could have very well put your entire team at risk. You-"

And so it continued.. Namjoon reprimanded Jungkook while the younger one listened with a crestfallen expression. Other two never disturbed and just waited patiently.

Taehyung kind of felt bad for the way his baby was getting scolded but he knows that the younger one definitely deserved it. If anything, Namjoon is being too soft with him. If it were anyone else, Namjoon would have yelled at them, with few choice words also.

But it was Jungkook, the baby of the group and everyone's favorite. Namjoon could never raise his voice at Jungkook that much with the way he doted on him.

"-and I want you to promise that you will never do anything like this again." Namjoon finished with even a softer tone than he started.

"Yes, hyung. I promise." Jungkook said in a sad voice and the other three people in the room had to work their damn hardest not to react to that voice.

"Ehem... yeah.. okay then. As long as you understand. Now get out, all of you. And Jungkook-" Namjoon tapped his finger with a fond smile. "Congratulations."

For the first time, Jungkook gave a soft smile to the chief, while his hand subconsciously touched the ring on his finger.

Once they left the meeting room and walked into their department, Yoongi was waiting for them. Waiting for Jungkook actually.

Yoongi currently heads the IT department in Seoul Police Headquarters. It took some convincing for Yoongi to move to Seoul. Namjoon had tried to get him transferred but he always refused, the police chief of Busan didn't agree to the transfer either.

When Jungkook finished his training and joined the police force, he was immediately ordered to join the Organised Crime Unit, which was something established by Namjoon as a specialized unit directly under him. Taehyung, Jin, Hoseok were already in it with Jimin being their in-team tech guy.

That was when Yoongi finally accepted the transfer and moved cities with Jungkook. The need to keep an eye on his brother was strong but also, a certain blonde had taken up his place in Yoongi's heart too. And he was anyway good friends with others so Yoongi finally decided it was time for a change.

And now, the much feared and respected cyber god was sitting on Jungkook's table with his fingers lightly tapping it. Jimin, Hoseok and the rest of the people were steadily avoiding even looking at Yoongi's direction.

Jungkook gulped nervously as he walked towards his brother but Yoongi ignored him and turned to Taehyung.

"So, was it good?"

Taehyung rolled his eyes at that. "Of course not. Didn't even raise his voice."

Yoongi shook his head in a disappointed way and jumped down from the table. He walked towards Taehyung who knew exactly what was going to happen.

"Rock-Paper-scissor!"

"Rock-Paper-scissor!"

Taehyung groaned as he lost the game and Yoongi gave a little grin and looked at Jungkook. "Follow me, you little trouble maker."

Jungkook hung his head and followed his brother, mentally preparing for another lecture. But unlike the previous one, he knew that this one would make his ears bleed.

When Jungkook came back after about 20 minutes, he looked angry, sad and so done with the world. No one said anything to their youngest and just let him get on with his work. After a few minutes, Taehyung walked over to Jungkook's seat, placed the bottle of banana milk that he brought and gave a soft kiss to Jungkook's head.

At first, Jungkook didn't react to either of those gestures and Taehyung walked back to his own seat with a sigh. After a few minutes, however, Jungkook gave a loud sigh and picked up the banana milk bottle. If he hadn't closed his eyes as he drank that, he would have noticed the fond smiles on every one of his team members.

Jungkook drank the whole bottle and then opened his eyes to see Jimin staring at him. "What?!"

"You asked for it this time." Jimin said as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Oh shut up! I already got an earful from my brother." Jungkook replied as he rolled his eyes at his friend in an annoyed way. "I don't need to hear it from my brother-in-law too."

"Kookie!!" Jimin yelled with wide eyes but Jungkook only smirked.

He can always manage to get the upper hand with Jimin. One mention of Yoongi's name and Jimin gets reduced to a flustered and blushing mess. If only it was that easy to deal with everyone else too.

So far Jungkook has gotten his much deserved reprimanding from his boss and his brother for the stunt he pulled today.

Guess he will have to wait at home tonight to get the due punishment from his boyfriend. Oops… Fiancé
