"Are you sure you are not fooling around tatum?" ryan questioned the man sitting opposite of him.
he thought in his mind that it was impossible. They clearly know how capable the mind of an ace. they are even better than the scholars.
Tatum lockwood is known as a genius. There is no questions nor problems he couldn't answer.
he doesn't even need to stare at a watch to know what time is it but now, this male can't even remember his own name.
"If you really want me to fool around just say, so i could pretend that we are best buddies right away" his sentence were filled with sarcasm but his tone doesn't give a hint that he was being sarcastic.
his attitude is completely different to what they were used to.
Tatum was cold from the outside but hot in the inside, he's smart, clever and a reliable friend but right now.. they couldn't see it.
His posture is languid, his eyes were filled with laziness, they were dull and blank. he look like a person who gave up life long time ago.
"and why are you calling me tatum?, is that my name?. eh why bother remembering it, it's useless" with that words. he lay down the couch and fell asleep immediately.
suzue stared at the male in silence before shifting her gaze towards the man standing beside her.
She doesn't know why but she suspected him to have something to do with the odd behavior of blue haired male is showing.
but she doesn't have any evidence, actually she just want to deny it but she herself kow that among them, Kai is the most suspicious.
"It wasn't me, you were with him earlier right? you know that it's impossible for me to do something to him when you're not around"
lie. suzue gritted her teeth and silently said it on her mind.
she clearly knows that the man will still do something not just behind her back but as well as in front of her.
she choose to remain silent and stared back at bluenette before walking out of the inn the prince was staying.
she thought about the time when she snatch the jack of spade away from deicide. she saw that he died, and nothing suspicious nor interesting thing that appeared after and before that.
but what's the difference between them?.
the other is a jack and a spade while the other is a ace and a heart.
what else?.. lucas said that all cars excluding the king will die when their cards were taken. he didn't said it that way but she knows it will become like this.
because after all, they are living in a dog eats dogs kind of world, where everyone barks and bites and the others retaliate in a same manner.
their difference... she wonders what is it.
was it because, Tatum is a character in an otome game and xavier is just a mob?
that's why the outcome is difference. if tatum's card was really snatch away from when and how did it happen... and who was it?
suzue took a deep breath and stared blankly at her feet.
she doesn't know why she's being worked up with it. in the past she would just ignore everything and let bygones be bygones but now... she started roasting her brain just to solve this puzzle.
is it because she started treating the male as a friend? or is it because she was influenced by her sister's kindness?
puff, kindness?. her? kind?
that's impossible.
you trip in front of her, she will just walk pass you.
cry and she won't blink an eye at you
she won't help you even if you beg.
she's that kind of person.
she just simply don't care.
since the day she came in this world, she become a mess.
suzue doesn't know what's in this world that it affected her so much.
it gives her a family that dotes on her, a home that keep her warm in night, people who feeds her and are willing to accept everything of her.
a sister who's perfect for her and a father who despite his indifference and scolding made her feel loved. and maybe friends that are willing to accompany her.
this world gives her happiness, this world seems so perfect that it feels so unreal.
she doesn't even kow if what's reality or not anymore.
this world... is this even real?
those people were they real?
does her sister, her father exist?
does she exist?
or this, everything in this world... is this just a fragment of her imagination? or just quick taste of fantasy?
or just a dream that would one day be forgotten after waking up... if it is.

"where's my sister?" lilith asked after walking out of the room.
she just finished putting ethan to sleep because for unknown reason the boy keep saying his head hurts.
she doesn't know what to do to ease his pain so she just suggested to let her sleep.
she frown when she notice the negativity the others are feeling.
they were in state of confusion. if lilith could guess it right they seem to be lost.
"your sister left, don't know where she's heading" lilith nod at clive and stared at tatum who's blankly staring at the ceiling.
lilith's head tilted on the side when she couldn't sense the emotions he's feeling and lucas didn't fail to notice it.
"What's wrong lilith?"
of course liltih didn't shy away and told him the truth, "i can't sense his emotions"
lilith isn't one who want to know someone's feeling, she just felt weird not sensing a person's emotion.
"really? when did it happen?" lucas asked in a serious voice
"just now. i have a suspicion earlier but i can finally confirm that i couldn't sense it now"
"strange. the red joker never failed before..." he trailed off and seems to be thinking soemthing.
and then suddenly his eyes widen.
lucas seems to have something to say but a cold voice interrupted him.
it was kai.
lilith felt herself stiffening and silently felt what his currently feeling before calming down.
he was calm.
"you must be tired, you should get rest i'll find your sister" lilith wanted to refused but the stare the man is giving her prevented her.
he's strangely calm.
