Chapter 38: Eliminating the Goblins

"Pardon?" 

Penny asked in surprise after hearing Lilith's plan.

"i can lead the others to escape in this village and then lilith will eliminate every goblins" Lilith 
Happily said. 

"One by one we will guide each family away from their houses, don't worry my sister can protect us." i just yawn when they stared at me with different reaction.

lilith staring at me proudly, henry in full expectation and awe, and penny in worry.

"to do that we need to send them a message to avoid noises" she pick up a paper and wave it in front of us.

"i'll slip a paper in their window or below their doors, we will use the forest us our exit"

"why forest?"

"because lilith would distract them from the entrance. from my observation the goblins isn't all about attacking, they could think too. i am pretty sure majority of them are waiting in the entrance, luckily they were not in the entrance earlier when we arrive they might be hungry and was searching for a prey"

She slightly shiver and i saw a flash of fear in her eyes. but immediately perish.

my forehead slightly crease. my sister is full of surprises. Being a noble must really restraining her from acting like this, uncomposed.

"what if they are in the forest?"

lilith stared at me and i stared back and went back lazing in the couch.

"leave it to Ezu"

"are we going to do the plan in the morning?"

"no... uhmm" lilith seems like in trouble what time we will be doing the plan, so i asnswered in her stead.

"Late afternoon" they stared at me and i stared back and wnt back to closing my eyes.

"late afternoon?"

"yes , ezu seems to be more useful when it's late in the afternoon or early morning"

i feel irked in her sentence but decided to take it as a compliment instead. all my sister's opinion towards me is true after all.

When Late afternoon finally arrive, the room suddenly felt suffocating, i could see penny and henry trying to keep calm and distract the kids from getting scared. 

i stood up when my sister stared at me. 

"be careful scream when you are in trouble, i'll be there quickly" she nod.

i stared at her eyes and i can still see the strong determination on it, it didn't waver and was still the same as earlier. i smiled lightly and turn around afraid that i would retreat if i saw another emotion appearing in her eyes.

Fear and Doubt.

i sigh and and went to walk towards the door i opened it and went outside. 

i took a deep breath and felt the strong breeze surrounding me. i turn to the path leading to the entrance and walk towards there but this not as silent as earlier.

the once silent village was interrupted with heavy footsteps, i didn't turn around when i heard a breathy growl. when i reach the entrance i could hear so many breathy growls behind me when i turn around i was greeted with a bunch of Goblins.

unsheathing my sword i took a deep breath again

"Rise"

I watched my sister closing the door behind her and silently listen to her footsteps.

i'll be lying if i said i am not worried for her sake, i know lilith is very strong, father would always appreciate her strength. at a young age all she ever do is train so i have a very huge confidence that she wont get hurt.

But i still couldn't stay calm not seeing her around me. it is probably because i'm being selfish, wishing for her to protect and follow me.

but it wouldn't always be like this, i know someday we will have our own lives. I will be married to the prince, if our engagement will not be dissolve and she will become the Next Ruler of the dukedom.

Yes, she keep on saying that she doesn't want to be a duke and just want to stay with me and protect me but we both know that it's impossible to happen, especially that she always like to control the financial and the state of the duchy and me being married off to another family.

she's very in denial.

i notice a shift on the shadows and i immediately took it as a sign that Ezu manage to distract all the goblins. i stood up and pick up the paper.

in this silent room i could feel and hear the fast beats of my heart, my hands are starting to sweat and i could feel my self trembling but i took a deep breath and shakes my head to calm myself and turn around to face the family.

"let's go" we silently left the house and went to part our ways to go to each houses.

i stop on the nearest house and slip a piece of paper underneath the door . A minute later the door opened and i was greeted by a little girl.

i offered her my hand and she accepted it we went to the other hose and just like earlier i slip a paper.

And it didn't take long for the door to open, a family of three appeared and we immediately went to another house.

there are only six houses that are locked up including the house of henry's so after this family we need to go the Forest immediately.

we silently jog towards the target exit,  i could't see any goblins anywhere and i could hear the growls of those monsters far from here, they probably came from the entrance.

the noises the goblins made probably attract every Goblins residing in this area.

i saw henry with his family and two families following him, when he saw us he smiled and we immediately entered the forest together.

we were still silent as ever, we don't know if a goblin is nearby so just being careful we remain silent and continued our journey through the woods hoping to find the exit of it. 

i look back once and didn't see any sign of Ezu, i silently sign and slap both of my cheeks.

Ezu would be okay, she's strong and fast she won't die because of a mere goblins.

i held my chest and patted it lightly, forcing my self to calm down, the noises we heard earlier from the goblins were starting to disappear it causes a huge relief from everyone.

i stared at the little girl who's holding my skirt, she was staring at me with a pair of innocent eyes.

i smiled at her and she beams, i gently wipes the tears starting to came out from her eyes and kisses her forehead.

a few minutes of walking we can finally see the end of the forest but the sky already turned dark, cautiously we observed the outside and saw many stores and houses. we are in a town but different from the town where the guild is located.

I observed the whole environment and nods after confirming that we are still in the land of Gi.

but wait if this forest is just between the fallen village and the Town, Why did the Goblin just attacked the village? and not also this? they could attack this town after destroying the village right? but why they didn't?

what was in that village that they took interest at?
