Emily's POV
I left the house and headed to a meet up spot we have used before, I don't want to stay out too long. I know JJ is feeling stressed about Mara not eating. I pulled up to the small diner and walked inside, I had a bag that contained the bottle in it
I sat down and ordered a coffee while I waited on an old Acquaintance of mine to show up.
I looked at the paper on the table and a few minutes later her arrived and sat next to me
"Emily, how have you been" he asked
"I'm good, and thank you for meeting me" I say and he nods
"Of course. Now what is it that you want me to do?" He asked
"I just need you to run some DNA, tell me if they are a match or not" I explain, keeping it short. I don't want any of this getting out to anyone
"You going to tell me whose?" He ask and I raise my eyebrows giving him a knowing look
"Right" he chuckles And sticks his hand out for me to give him the bag and I do
"Please me careful with this and get me the results as soon as possible" I tell him
"Of course Emily. Anything for an old friend" he says and we stand up and give each other a hug
"Thank you Collin" I smile and we both go out separate ways out of the diner and I go back to my car to head home
It was around lunch time and I knew that Mara would have trouble with it so I picked JJ and i something up and a little something for Mara and headed home
When I walked inside it was quiet and I figured Mara had fallen asleep again
I laid everything on the table and walked back the hallway of the apartment to Maras room and her and JJ were on her bed. Both of them very much awake and looking at a book JJ had
"Hey" I smile and walk over to them giving JJ a kiss and sitting down on the end of the bed
"What are you reading?" I ask Mara
"Caterpillar" she whispers
"What's the caterpillar do?" I ask
"He eats lots and lots" she giggles
"Oh yea?" I smile and she nods
"I got some lunch" I say to JJ and she nods
"Mara do you want to come eat lunch?" She ask and the girl just looked down and shook her head
"Okay, do you want to stay in here and play while Emily and I have lunch or do you want to come with us?" She ask her,
"Play?" She ask quietly and JJ smiles
"You can play with anything in here okay? And if you need me come get me. Is that okay?" JJ ask and the girl nods and slips out of bed
We leave her alone in the room and go to the kitchen, she might be more comfortable by her self for a little to adjust
We sat at the table right across from each other while we ate
"How did coffee with Collin go?" She ask
"Good, I haven't seen him in so long, what about everything with Mara once I left?" I ask and she shrugs
"She's okay, she calmed down and we talked about poppy for a a while but then she was getting bored so we started to read" she tells me and I smile about the way her eye light up when talking about Mara
