He was wronged in life. The odds stacked against him since birth. Sure, it did not fully justify all the wrong he had done, but you understood he could be brought to the light as long as he had someone to believe in him. So as you stood there, watching Loki struggle to stand amidst the debree of Stark Tower, you reached a hand out to him. He turned to look at you, an Avenger, with an expression you could only place as a mixture of shock and confusion.
"Why? Why?!"
"Everyone deserves a second chance."
After over a minute of simply staring at you, Loki reached up and you grasped his hand, helping him up as you brushed a few bits of rubble and debree from the ruined Tower off his clothes. A sparkle of hope flickered to life in his eyes, something you could tell he hadn't felt in a long time. You smiled. And he smiled back.
