The Avengers were crumbling apart. Everyone had their own opinions on the Sokovia Accords, and right now, Steve Rogers needed help protecting what he knew was right- and his best friend. Y/N was rumored to be... special. A young woman living as a hermit in the north-most forests of Maine, she was Steve's best hope. He had a contact who lived in the town closest to her, and he'd carefully become her friend, discovering in the process that she had grand, feathery wings sprouting from her back. She was a peaceful woman, preferring to live on her own rather than with people who would make assumptions and judge her immediately on sight. Steve understood that, but not as well as Bucky Barnes did. He was curious about this possible recruit, and so the pair gathered another pal, Sam Wilson, and drove up to the forest.
She emerged only if necessary- and her only friend, Steve's contact, had needed to beg her to come out to meet the patriotic super soldier. She appeared in a clearing at the edge of the woods, appearing suspicious yet interested in what he had to say. As Bucky and Sam watched from inside the car, parked a short while away, she showed off her impressive fighting skills (self-trained) by sparring Steve. Surprisingly, she easily defeated him, impressing all three of the superheroes- but then she unfurled her majestic wings and the two in the car were stricken. The sun seemed to hit her skin and eyes in just the right way to make her seem irresistible but still out of reach. Sam nodded, impressed, as a smile spread across Bucky's face. Steve turned and just caught his friends' reactions. His immediate thought:
