I pull my phone out and held it up above my face before answering it.
" hey lil man, hey you three." i say with a tight lip smile, Steven smiles widely along with Ame while Pearl nods with a tiny smile now Garnet, she was full blown beaming
" Hi mom! we've missed you so much! Garnet has the most nearly as much as me, when are you coming back?" He said
I let a soft smile play on my lips and i softened my gaze as i looked at them, i chuckled
" I missed you all as well like you wouldn't believe, I am just getting some fresh air and some needed alone time so i can think about things I'll be back before you know it."
" but when?" Garnet asked
" I-in time, I'll come back when I'm ready..." i say uneasy
Which Garnet catches onto quickly " Are you okay Love?"
" Im fine.....Just kinda all over the place at the moment, I swear I'll be back before you know it" I start to tear up
" I-i uh...I gotta go now but i swear you can call anytime and I will answer, I love you all so much and I will see you soon, I will- I will come back sooner or later" I say quickly and hung up before letting my arms fall to my sides and covering my eyes with my hands over them.
" 'Sooner Or Later'..." i mumbled
-with the gems-later that day-
The Gems were standing at the top of a cliff, overlooking a moss-covered swamp. Steven is seen hopping on the rocks in the swamp.
Pearl peers at it "This doesn't look good at all."
Steven was on a rock, reaching to touch the moss "Whoa! Cool!"
"No, Steven! Don't go near that stuff!" Pearl scolded
"No, Steven, wait—" Ame started
The moss started crawling towards Steven. Garnet throws a nearby boulder at the rock Steven is standing on, catapulting him into Pearl's arms.
"Whoa! " Steven lands on Pearl " Steven's here!"
Pearl puts Steven down " You have to be careful, Steven!"
"Why? " A duck is seen attempting to sit on a floating log in the swamp, when the moss engulfs the log. "What is that stuff?" Steven asked
Garnet looked onward "It's the moss that Rose Quartz raised on the hill."
"My mom planted this stuff?" Steven asked
"Rose Quartz used to climb that hill every spring and tend to the moss at the top. " Pearl projects a hologram of Rose at the top of a hill " But now that Rose is... gone, the moss is on the move!"
Steven was saddened " It's lost...like my new mom is"
"It's not lost. It's gross." Ame said
"Yes, but Rose loved it anyway. She saw the beauty in everything, no matter how gross. " Pearl flicks her hair " Fortunately, I know just what to do in this situation and Indy is fine, just getting some needed rest"
The Gems gets off the cliff and onto ground level. Garnet, Ame and Steven sit down on the ground, as they watch what Pearl is going to do. Pearl then strikes a pose.
"Twooooh! " Pearl dances briefly " Haaaaaah!" Pearls gem starts to glow.
Steven whispers to Ame " This is why I get up in the morning! " A small glowing object appears out of Pearl's gem and into Steven's hands, revealing a roll of yellow tape reading 'POLICE LINE' "Is this... police tape?" he asked
"Isn't this great? This way, we don't even have to use magic. Humans will just see this and walk away." Pearl said
Garnet, perched on a rock, slams her fist into her palm like a baseball mitt.
Garnet said a quick "Don't hold back."
"I never... do! " Ame throws the roll of tape to Garnet
The Gems starts wrapping the entrance to the swamp in police tape.
"La la-la la-la~ " Pearl ties the police tape into a bow shape
" Perfect!" The Gems gather to inspect the handiwork " Now we can come up with a plan to move the moss back to its hill!"
"Who wants to get some lunch? " Steven asked
The Gems turn and stare at him silently." What about you then Mom?-" Steven cut himself short as he let a small sad smile play on his features "Just me, then? ...Nice."

Steven layed on his bed after a long day of adventures, he layed beside Ame who was annoyed.
" Do you miss her?" Steven asked quietly
" No duh i do" Ame said still annoyed
" When will she come back?" he asked
" Soon." she bluntly said
" How do you know?" he asked
" I just do alright" she said her annoyance growing
" What do you mean?" he asked
" I just know it alright!?" she shouted
He stayed quiet
" I just know she'll be back..."
" I believe you." He said honestly
She stayed quiet
Indy layed in the same spot starring up at the sky with a hand over her gem, her arm concealed many cuts along it which some she even didnt remember creating...
