I landed with a loud grunt, huffing in pain as I crashed into the thicket of Thanos' side of the battlefield.

"Fuck!" I cursed, slamming my sword down into the ground in anger at our failure, Thor and I being mere moments away from taking out Thanos once and for all.

I pushed myself to my knees, my heart thundering heavily in my chest. I dug the palms of my hands into the dirt as I heaved, my breath being almost knocked completely out of my body after the exhausting fight. I felt my bump, worry running though me almost instantly but I knew everything was okay, perhaps it was just a motherly instant but I kissed my hand, touching my stomach again thankfully.

I glanced up at the battlefield, anxiety running though me as I realised I was right in the middle of Thanos' army but my eyes glazed over with fury once I set eyes on my new target. There was Ebony Maw, flying above the troops, waving his hand sending forces of death to my friends. He was the onc who pulled Thor and I away from Thanos, he was the reason why we couldn't finish the job.

Thanos' army swarmed around me, many noticing my odd position so early on in the battle and started to flood towards me. I started off in a run, intent clear as I kept my eyes trained on Maw. I swirled my sword over my head, catching sight of the glowing gem of my sword, and I took out a large radius of creatures surrounding me with my magic.

Maw noticed me from my obvious display of attention and instantly turned, a snarl on his face.

I met his look, swinging my sword. I puffed the loose strands of hair out of my face that were beginning to become a nuisance as I charged towards Maw.

He attacked almost instantly. With a wave of his hands, long, splintered wood was transformed into sharp spikes. They soared towards me and I dived out of the way, his attack hitting the crowd of outriders that were just to my left.

Spinning quickly back onto my path, Maw didn't hesitate to try again but I was much closer to him this time. I sliced my sword though the air, conjuring up the magic inside of me and pointed it at the rocks beside Maw. It exploded up in small pieces, just as it did with Thanos but Maw easily deflected them. I halted my run as I was only a few meters away from him. Maw used both hands and brought up the huge piles of rock that was by his sides, lifting them high into the air. With a single movement, every single rock hurtled towards me at lightening speed. With a great swish of my sword, I braced myself for impact, trying to block the stream of rocks. I pried my eyes open, heart beating fast, to see the rocks hovering in mid-air. With a grunt of effort, they dropped to the ground and Maw stared at me in frustration.

"Would you simpleton not just die?" He hissed, fingers curling.

"Simpleton? You offend me."

Maw, far more riled up than he was before, lifted up one of the great ships that had crashed down. He waved his hand and the ships dashed through the air in my direction. I thought about ducking and rolling but that would only put pressure on the baby and that was something I didn't want to do. I slot my sword quickly back in its sheath and rose my hands high, fingers twirling with tendrils of silver energy and I pushed my hands out in front of me, wrists flicking upwards. The ships changed its direction, not without the quiet moment of tension as they hovered between us but with a battle cry, the ships soared towards Maw and collided with him, knocking him to the ground.
