I distractedly walked through the courtyard with Flora and Tecna by my side. We immediately headed back to Alfea after our literally failed, we didn't even know what hurt more, the injuries we got or the intense feelings that come with after we failed.
Tecna was talking about something that I wasn't listening to, not because it wasn't interesting but because I couldn't help but let my mind wander back to what happened at Cloud Tower, about how we failed to protect the Codex and not Lord Darkar has it, he's one step closer to his reign.
"[Na-"
Maybe if I used my Charmix, the Codex wouldn't be in their hands and my friends wouldn't have to sulk about how we everywhere they go, maybe we could've stopped the Witches even though the convergence didn't work because there was no harmony whatsoever.
"[Name]!" Tecna finally managed to snap me out of my train of thoughts.
I flashed her a sheepish smile. "Yeah?"
Tecna's eyebrows furrowed in concern. "Did you even hear a word I've said?"
"No.." I admitted with a sigh, slightly guilty. "I'm sorry."
Tecna frowned worryingly at me.
"Are you doing alright sweetie?" Flora asked me this time, while laying a hand on my shoulder to give it a gentle and comforting squeeze.
I was about to answer and admit what I was thinking about when Timmy suddenly ran up to us. "Hey guys!" Timmy smiled. "Woah, what a coincidence."
Tecna turned around and huffed, still bitter that Timmy didn't even put up a fight against the Witches for the Codex and that he keeps talking about computers and such instead of having a real boyfriend to girlfriend talk that consisted actual feelings and not technology.
"I was just doing some IT work." Timmy rambled on when his expression suddenly shifted as if realizing something, he turned to me and I rose an eyebrow at him with slight surprise. "Oh yeah! [Name], Miss Faragonda wants to talk to you."
"Why?" I asked even though I think I know why, probably having to do with me earning my Charmix and being the first one in my year to have earned it.
"I don't know." Timmy shrugged but there was a hint of curiosity evident from his tone before waving it off and turning back to Tecna. "Anyways I was doing some IT work-"
"That's nice." Tecna dismissed Timmy completely and walked away.
"I'm no good at this." Timmy mumbled sadly and I felt bed for the guy, he didn't even know what the problem was.
I put a hand on his shoulder and flashed him a soft smile and he returned it with a grateful one. "You should just tell her how you feel." And with that I walked off to go to Miss Faragonda her office.
