London: Prime Minister's Office

"How do you think our country's sharpest minds are interpreting this?"

Prime Minister Churchill raised a question amidst his consuming of his cigar.

It was true that they were unsettled about the election, but they did not show it. There were some who believe that the Labour Party was involved, but he was convinced that there was no reason for him to be defeated since he had led the government to victory in the war against Germany.

"I will concentrate on the current topic, the Japanese from the 'Reiwa' era."

"The most popular theory at the moment is... that they are time-displaced people."

Major General Menzies of the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS), who had come to the office, gave his report.

"Some point in the future, a catastrophic disaster or war may have occurred, and as a result, a substantial group of immigrants may have fled to present-day Japan by time travel... Those who make their living in science and science fantasy are generally of the opinion that this is the case."

"What a wealth of imagination, one cannot help but be impressed," Churchill joked.

Knowing full well that Menzies was not here to play tricks, and that the Japanese superweapon, rampaging like a leviathan, must also be real. Immediately after returning after the Philadelphia Conference, the ambassador from Moscow delivered some interesting information. He sharpened his eyes to consider the unthinkable and mulled over his words.

"I wonder how large would be the number of people who would be killed."

"I think at least a million people. Even people of this era with advanced technology can only do so much with a small number of people."

"Indeed."

"At present, a wide variety of future technology products have been confirmed, including high-performance jets, super heavy bombers, giant vessels, and artificial satellites. Whether they were brought from this 'Reiwa' era or manufactured locally, we must assume that a certain number of people are needed to operate the equipment and maintain the technological level."

"It may have something to do with the fact that Japan infuriated the colonists in March."

Churchill tilted his head slightly, enjoying his cigar again, and pondered a bit. Since the start of the Industrial Revolution, the amount of energy per capita has been increasing at an accelerating rate. In light of this, it was perhaps not surprising that the time travelers demanded an extraordinary amount of fossil fuels. Whether the colonizers or the communists are outraged and reject it, all they have to do is to take it away by force, and it seems to be progressing as it should.

However, there were many aspects that were inexplicable, which was natural since they were hypothetical speculative hangings. If they needed a large quantity of resources, it would seem that the tyrannical blackmail would be directed at their empire as well, but they have yet to hear from them. And if the Japanese from the 'Reiwa' era were able to emigrate in time, why not their descendants as well? It seemed to him that Japan in the future will be a third-rate country or even a vassal state as a result of this Great War.

"Well, in light of that, I suppose we should still probe," Churchill exhaled. "We must get some form of information on the Japanese mainland."

"Ind—"

As Menzies was following up, suddenly there was a tremor, and a roar assaulted their ears.

What's going on? As everyone panicked, Churchill witnessed black smoke rising from St. James' Park. The black smoke was so thick that it obscured Buckingham Palace, which he could see from his window.
