Edward was well acquainted with the entire country, and now that they had all the time in the universe to do as they pleased, he tried to plan a route that Devon might enjoy. However, he wasn't entirely sure where to start or which places would be the best to visit. He had to be cautious since they couldn't be in crowded places or go out during a sunny day. Some places were beautiful at night, but they were limited.

Both were in a hotel in Pittsburgh; Devon wanted to make sure his father wouldn't try to find Margo or do something foolish. He also learned that the police had been to the house, but the man claimed he was a victim of a robbery and didn't know the assailant. They would open a case, but it probably wouldn't lead anywhere; they might not even investigate it properly.

"Do you want to go hunting?" Edward suggested. "Afterward, we can grab something to eat to get the taste of blood out of our mouths."

Devon, who was on the balcony gazing at the city night, smiled and turned to face Edward. "I'd like that."

Devon entered the room and surveyed his surroundings. There was nothing, not even their suitcases, as they would leave at dawn. They didn't really need to eat or sleep to embark on their journey, but it made things a bit more fun. Imagining they were still alive. The only thing they needed for sufficient strength was blood.

They both headed out after Devon decided to change his shirt. There weren't many animals in the vicinity, so they had to go a bit further, practically on the outskirts of the city where there were no houses or buildings. They managed to find some animals, and it was quite fun, although it was a short hunt. After almost four hours, they were in a 24-hour café, eating something to remove the taste of blood.

It wasn't really unpleasant, but it wasn't the best flavor in the universe. At least not the taste of animal blood; human blood had a different flavor, and according to Edward, there were humans with a very special blood taste, like Bella.

Dinner was quiet and enjoyable, and then they returned to the hotel to sleep for a while until it was dark enough to travel during the day and reach their next destination at night. Devon wanted to know a bit about what Edward had planned, but Cullen kept his mouth shut, claiming it would be a surprise.

That's how the days and weeks began to pass. Edward took Devon to many beautiful places that weren't exactly tourist spots, but Edward knew them thanks to his long life. They got to know each other a lot more; their favorite things or what they disliked, what they would like to do in the future, and the dreams they had. Practically everything. Even Edward shared a bit about his past, when Carlisle transformed him and later had a small relapse, hunting criminals. Sometimes Edward didn't feel good about it, but Devon could understand.

One afternoon, they were in the hotel room, spending time, waiting for the sun to set a bit before going out.

Devon decided to take a bath just to pass the time, while Edward had no idea what to do in the meantime. So, he was curiously looking at a metal box that Devon had left on his bed. It was full of photos, many of which he had taken since the beginning of their journey. However, the more he looked, he soon came across slightly older photos where Ronan was the main model.

He couldn't help but feel... annoyed? Jealous? And it wasn't because Ronan was the model, but because they were photos of Ronan in his underwear on the bed where Edward supposed Devon was sitting on his abdomen to take those photos. Not only that, further back, there was a complete session of Ronan practically naked.

Edward almost rolled his eyes, but it was his fault for being curious about things that weren't his. However, he couldn't deny that they were very good photos; Devon had a great skill with the camera.

"Do you like them?" he heard Devon's voice.

Edward didn't answer for a long moment as he looked at a photo at the end. It was him at school, but he was laughing at something he didn't remember at that moment. It was a pretty picture, but he didn't remember it; had Devon taken it while he was distracted?

He turned around to look at Devon and showed him that photo. "When did you take this photo?"

Devon shrugged as he approached and left his wet towel on a chair. "It was when we first started talking, I think. That day, I brought my camera to show Angela some photos, and suddenly I saw you, talking with your brothers, and you seemed really happy. You almost never smile, much less like that, so I just took a picture to... remember it."

Devon picked up the metal box and looked at some photos. It didn't take long for him to come across the one of Ronan, and his expression changed to sadness. Edward noticed, and he didn't like it at all.

"Do you want to hire my services?" Edward suddenly said.

Devon looked at him with a furrowed brow and slightly amused. "What?"

"I'll pay you for a session like Ronan's."

Devon felt more than confused. "Do you want me to take naked pictures of you?" he asked, slightly surprised.

Edward furrowed his brow; he seemed a bit doubtful about it. "Yes?" he asked, and Devon let out a laugh.

"Edward, it's a question for you. If you're not sure—"

"Yes," he interrupted. "I want photos like that."

Devon looked at him more seriously. He didn't want to believe that he could feel jealous after seeing those pictures of his brother, but everything seemed to indicate that he did.

"Edward, I swear it's not that I don't want to do it. I would really love to, but I can't if it makes you uncomfortable or for any other reason."

It was true that Edward didn't really feel comfortable showing his body, but honestly, he didn't mind if Devon did.

"Well, if you want me to say it, I'll say it," he sounded a bit annoyed, "I'm upset and jealous. Just thinking about you and my brother practically naked, I... I know you two had something really special, but—" he stopped and looked at Devon, who was looking at him expectantly, "I like you," he murmured, "I like you, Devon. It's been almost four months since we left Forks, and everything has been... I've never enjoyed a trip like this before. And I know I'm not as outgoing as my brother, and I can't express myself and show my feelings like he does, but... if it's with you... I'd like to try. Besides Bella, I've never dated anyone before, and I never imagined that I could like men someday, so I'm sorry if I'm clumsy or don't know what to do in certain situations, but—"

Devon interrupted him by joining their lips in a soft and pleasant kiss. Devon ran his hands through Edward's neck, and Edward placed his hands on Devon's waist.

After a moment, they separated, but their faces remained close.

"You have no idea how long I've been waiting for you to say that," Devon smiled. "Mr. Cullen, do you still want your photo shoot?"

Edward smiled. "Yes. I still want it."

Devon pulled away and went to his backpack.

"I'll go to the truck for some things. I won't be long."

Edward looked at him with a furrowed brow, but before he could say or ask anything, Devon was already out of the room with the keys to the truck in hand.

Cullen collapsed on the bed while laughing. He had really done it; he had actually told Devon that he liked him. And it felt good.

 And it felt good
