K E N D R A

It was Saturday and we're going out. Aunt Emerald wanted to go to a beach and stay for a night to refresh. I badly wanted to unwind too so I came with them. Cyan will just follow us later tho because he was still in a meeting.

"Are you all settled?" Auntie asked after I went out the room I was staying on.

Aunt Emerald rented one small beach house with three rooms. Red and I will share a room, Blue and Cyan will share one room, and Aunt Emerald will have a room for herself. The house was so homey and is very fresh to the eyes.

"Yes, Auntie. Should I fix the table outside for our afternoon snack?" I asked and Auntie said yes.

When I went out, I saw Blue playing with his phone while swinging lightly on the hammock. He was having fun so I did not bother to interrupt him. Red was inside and was sleeping.

I went to the table just outside our beach house and put utensils, plates, and other things needed. I gathered the beach chairs closely and opened the beach umbrella.

After minutes, Auntie and the others went out for the afternoon snack. Cyan also came on time for the snacks and we had a fun time together. After snack, we decided to have a swim.

Red and Blue were so excited to go to the water while Auntie went inside to check on the ingredients we will need for our barbecue party tonight. On other hand, I sat next to Cyan on the sand.

"Aren't you going swimming?" he asked and I shook my head. He didn't asked further and we stayed quiet while looking at his siblings having fun.

He looked so tired while sitting here. I just stared at him while his eyes were shut and his head was bopping up and down. I sighed and led his head to my shoulders. That will hurt his neck if I just let him bop his head.

While I silently hear him breathing, I suddenly got curious again. My mind wandered and I couldn't help but ask him.

"Imagine a world without me, Cyan. What will you do then?" I asked curiously

"Why are you asking me that?" he asked and I flinched because of it. He was awake?

"It's a rhetorical question. Like for instance." I defended and backed up my question.

"I'll stop imagining then. I would never want to imagine a world without you." he said and lifted his head from my shoulders.

I looked at him and blinked while trying to absorb what he said. He's really a romantic kind of guy.

I did not talk anymore because I can see that Cyan was trying to sleep again. I'm also already satisfied with what he said. It made my heart flutter. To be honest, Cyan's the perfect type of guy and I'm starting to doubt if I even deserve his love.

It was so surreal. I can't even imagine Cyan liking me in this lifetime. Getting close with him was far beyond my reach before. It was a miracle we even get to this stage.

Once again, I felt Cyan was sleeping beside me and this time, he was the one who put his head in my shoulder. I didn't mind tho. This was a small thing I can do for him and it's not even half of all the things he did for me.

I pouted when I suddenly felt lonely. The atmosphere was eerie because no one was talking. I suddenly wanted to wake up Cyan and talk to him nonstop.

"Why are you so nice to me? I wasn't even nice to you back then." I mumbled to myself and removed a leaf that landed on his hair.

I wasn't really nice to him when I first met them. He wasn't that talkative too and I tend to be rude sometimes. He was one of the few people I don't mingle with even if we know each other.

"What brought you to treating me so nice?" I asked again and got curious. Now a lot of things was running in my head.

I looked at the orange sky and mumbled a question. "How did you thought of treating me when I came to your family's house? I bet you had a hard time finding out on how you should treat me. We were never close."

"At first, I treated you like a ripped book." Cyan said and yet again startled me.

Is he even sleeping at all? Why was he answering all my questions?

"A book which I had to put effort to find the missing piece so that I'd be able to finish reading it. But after awhile, I dropped that way of thinking, Kendra." he said in the softest tone possible.

"Why did you change your mind?"

"I changed my mind because I realized that I don't want you to be just a book to me."

"Just a book? But I consider a book as a precious item, Cyan. Why degrade it?"

I really do treasure a book so much. I may not be really fond of reading books but books are priceless items one can ever have. It's much precious than money, in my opinion.

"If you were a book for me Kendra, then that would mean that I..."

He stopped amidst his sentence and stared at me as if I was the precious woman he had ever laid his eyes on. I had seen that kind of stare from him for countless times already. It was the stare that made me feel so worthy.

"That I would finish reading you and forget those memorable things I read in time. So I refuse to consider you as a book because you're more than that to my life."

"If describing me as a book is not enough, then what am I to you?" I pressured and received his stare.

"I can't find words to express your significance in my life, Kendra. I find it hard to explain what your real meaning to my life is. You're like the driving force of my life that stirred it to a  revolutionary path."

I smiled when I heard that. I fixed the hem of my maxi dress and removed some of the sand that got on my feet. Sitting on the beach while looking at the sun setting and Cyan's astounding way of words, it was perfect.

"Who says you can finish reading me? You didn't even finish one fourth of my story. Just consider me as an endless book that you'll never finish." I bragged shamelessly and shot a smile.

"But that would be frustrating. I might get bored and just discard the book then." he seriously answered that killed the mood.

"Oh? You're being so cruel, Cyan."

"I wasn't." he said and put his hands up to show that he was innocent from the claims.

"Just please remember our times together, Cyan. I don't want the memories we made together to be buried six feet under the ground." I said and looked at him.

When he welcomed my stare, I couldn't help but be mesmerized. I can see the whole galaxy in his eyes right now. It was such a sight that I'll never get tired of seeing.

"I won't, Kendra. Never in a lifetime."
